John was excellent and informative. I have to get my head around how the cost of things have increased.
John Fenning was very informative and efficient on his visit.
Heinz arrived early, and performed the work required. I was very impressed that he identified a leak that was related to our humidifiers and remedied the problem. He was very polite and knowledgeable. This is the second time that we have called Clearview for services and they do not disappoint. Excellent and knowledgeable plumbers; very service and customer oriented. Bravo to Clearview!
John got right at the furnace to figure out what was going on , turns out he found a wire hanging loosely that should have been plugged in . This happened apparently when I had duct cleaning in June . GREAT EYES John Thank you !!!
Both technicians that came out were very good at what they do
John was polite and knowledgeable and very informative about the steps that he was going to take to service my furnace.
Through no fault of Richard Soanes a faulty shutoff valve was installed on the first call. This valve was replaced no charge very quickly.
Richard & team arrived on time, and proceeded to do a thorough job in a timely manner. Richard advised us of a new issue & has arranged for that to be resolved. We are very satisfied.
Richard was on time & did a great job of explaining our options.
Client called out due to master en suite bathtub leaking tech went out performed a leak search and cut a hole into the basement drywall ceiling and confirmed the en suite tub is indeed leaking and it appears to be leaking from the drain assembly for the tub after several days, tech was able to find the parts and quoted work. Tech emailed the quote and called the client.
Tech came out to perform heating maintenance inspection. Tech tested the heating system: checked gas pressure, temperature, exhaust fan amperage test, blower motor amperage test, flame rectification sensor test, exhaust fan vacuum test. Overall, furnace is in good condition. The furnace is estimated to be 5 to 6 years old. Tech noted a few issues one the chimney is 5 inch size and only serving a single atmospheric hot water tank. There appears to be no chimney liner and should be one as per code to prevent condensation within the chimney as well as have proper ventilation for combustion gases to leave the home. The second was the exhaust motor on the furnace as well past the amperage rating and is extremely hot. This is due to the flu collar drain lines clogged with plastic debris from the venting during install. tech cleared this debris however, permanent and irreversible damage is already been done to the exhaust motor. It is functional at this time and furnace is heating at this
Today I came to Chelsea and Cory’s Lakeview home to perform the annual furnace tune up and inspect the main sewer. Furnace tune up and inspection: Upon tune up and inspection of the 18 year old system I tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, static pressures, tested and tightened all electrical connections, all safety switches and control board. The furnace is in good condition. The ignition system looks brand new and is working well within manufacturers specifications as is the flame sensor, inducing motor, gas valve, safety switches, control board, and blower motor. These water heater appears very new as well and is in good condition. Upon camera inspection of the main sewer from the launder area clean out, I found the interior cast iron piping system is in relatively good condition and could use a cleaning.
Called client and update quotes and have emailed them off.
Today I came to the Cheng’s hawk land home because the furnace stopped working. Upon diagnostics I found the igniter is weak and pressure switches need to be replaced. These can cause damage to the control board. I went over the options with Friday, he has decided to just replace the condensate pressure switch for now. I have jumped the switch today so he has heat until we can return to replace it. 50% paid today with the remainder due at time of job completion. 25% restocking fee should the job be cancelled.
Return to site to replace waste and overflow Test and operate no longer dripping 1 year guarantee Clean up work area
Today I came to Terri’s Hamptons rental property because the furnace was acting up last night. Atco gas and the fire department came and said the furnace needs to be serviced. Upon inspection of the 33 year old furnace I found soot, evidence of flame roll out, and a failed heat exchanger. The heat exchanger or furnace must be replaced. The furnace is currently unsafe for use and has been shut down as per gas code. The water heater is 13 years old and at its life expectancy. Tentatively scheduled for Friday October 31 for installation. Clearview office are moving other job around to get the furnace installed sooner and will update the home owner and tenant when we have more info. 50% paid today with the remainder due at time of job completion. 25% restocking fee should the job be cancelled.
Hb yp rs Return to site to line sewer approx 70 ft Drain has multiple connections that have issues with severe build up closing up drain including city side Successfully clean line to allow for liner to set and seal joints Let line cure for approx 1.5 hr and remove remote Camera line to make sure liner was successful no issues found Today I came to Colleen’s Lakeview home because she is concerned about her aged sewer piping system. She has not experienced a sewer backup but knows the system is old and it’s only a mater of time. Upon camera inspection I found the internal cast iron system is in relatively good condition. The external clay piping system is in poor condition. Almost half of the the clay pipe connections are broken. This is allowing minor root intrusions. While this is not causing a backup now, once the pipe is broken, and roots are present, it is an inevitability that the line will fail. The pipe is in the proper condition that a pipe liner can be installed. Should
Today I came to Katherine’s Bonavista home to perform the annual family plan furnace tune up before winter. Clearview installed the furnace 5 years ago and Katherine has had it maintained every year since then. Last year Clearview performed the furnace and duct cleaning, replaced the condensate pump, and replaced the humidifier pad. Furnace tune up: Upon tune up and inspection of the 5 year old system I tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, humidifier, static pressures, tested and tightened all electrical connections, all safety switches and control board. The furnace is in very good condition. All components are working well within manufacturers specifications. There was a leak in the past that caused some rust but that was taken care of. The humidifier was shut off at the water supply. I opened the valve and te
Today I came to Maisa’s New Brighton home becuase the water heater stopped working on Tuesday. Upon inspection of the 14 year old tank I found the controller is giving an error code indicating ignition failure. I can see the burners fire up then shut off again. This could be a problem with the flame rectification system however diagnostics will be required to determine the problem. The tank is past its life expectancy of 8-12 years especially without a water softener. I went over my findings and options with Maisa. She has decided to just clean the flame sensor today. I removed the burner, igniter and flame sensor. Cleaned the flame sensor and put the system back together. The water heater is working now and hot water should be restored within the hour.
Today I came to Rona’s Priddis area home becuase the furnace stopped working. Rona and Kevin explained they recently had a duct cleaner out to clean the system and he explained there were some loose wires in the furnace. Upon inspection I found the loos wires are for a relay attached to a transformer that currently serves no purpose. Upon further inspection I found the control board fuse was blown. This more than likely happened during the duct cleaning. Typically when you remove the bottom door of the furnace a safety power switch shuts off the power to the furnace. In this case the safety switch has been disconnected and there is constant power to the furnace even with the door off. A duct cleaner would have assumed the power was off when the furnace door was off. With the power on, it would be very easy to blow the fuse during a cleaning. Once I replaced the fuse the furnace fired right up. I can not determine of there are any other issues with the furnace without performing a full
Today I came to Bijal’s Legacy home because the furnace stopped working. Bijal explained that she noticed no heat on Saturday. She called Telus (Telus thermostat) and they came and said there is no power to the furnace. Upon inspection I found the furnace disconnect was turn off. I turned it back on and the furnace started running.
Today I came to Jill and Adam’s Chaparral home because the 20 year old water heater is not producing enough hot water anymore. Adam has tried to flush the tank with no success. Because the tank is 20 years old, and there is no water softener, I recommend replacement.
Clients called us out today due to second floor. Furnace is being intermittent tech went out. Furnace is only two years old filter is clear no error codes recorded on control board after discussing with the client. Some of the symptoms they have been noticing the furnace will periodically heat to the design temperature And once it’s reached, will shut off and not come back on tech remove the panels on the furnace and jumper terminal R and terminal W to call for heat. Furnace fired up without issues. Tech noted. There’s no weird noises puffs or lockouts from the furnace tech quoted to perform diagnostic however, after discussing with client tech suspects the nest thermostat is malfunctioning after discussing with clients on site. Should the furnace continue to be intermittent? They will replace the thermostat from the main floor to the second floor to test the thermostat. Should it still continue to be intermittent? They will call us back to perform a diagnostic furnace appears to be op
Today I came to Blaine’s Hidden Valley home to perform a furnace tune up before winter. Earlier this year Clearview replaced the inducing motor. In 2021 Clearview replaced the control board and igniter. Furnace tune up: Upon tune up and inspection of the 13 year old system I tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, humidifier, static pressures, tested and tightened all electrical connections, all safety switches and control board. The furnace is in good condition. All components are working well within manufacturers specifications. The humidifier was allowing far too much water to flow through it. I throttled the flow down at the needle valve which will save lots of water. The water heater is 16 years old and well past its life expectancy. The Bradford white gx2 is a performance tank. It is only 25 gallons but is a
