The installers were incredible

We recently contracted to have our A/C replaced. The estimator and back office dropped the ball and this caused the installation to be delayed for a day in the middle of a heat wave. Then, when the installers got here we learned the estimator sent the wrong voltage equipment and the new equipment wouldn’t have the lifetime warranty we were sold on. That was very disappointing. However, the installers themselves (Scott and jermaine) were incredible. They ended up staying until 11:30 pm to try to get job finished. Tremendous work ethic and professional. With a little more attention to detail on the back office/estimator side, this would have been a rave….

Water pressure is good now. Tried to purge the boiler zone and found frozen return. This boiler needs a domestic water line to it. Or this issue will continue to happen.

Service for no water: Arrived to the business. There was no water in the building. Looked downstairs to look at the utility room. Checked the well tank and pressure switch. Checked the whole house filters and up light system. Filters were clogged. Replaced filter. Managed to get their water back on. Pressure switch is going on and off. Pressure tank is water logged, diaphragm is damaged. Put in 2 estimates. Checked plumbing fixtures. Paid diagnostic fee. Called to have service tech check the heat.

The customer stated no heat. Found no water going to the boiler due to the customer having a water tank that needs to be filled every so often to provide water to the boiler which was empty. Had to refill the water tank which would not take water. Hooked the 100ft garden hose up to the water faucet in the kitchen directly to the boiler to try and purge the boiler which it would not purge due to the pipes in the attic being frozen. Explained this to the customer who was persistent on this issue being because of the install, tried to explain why it was not the installer fault. The customer was going to leave heaters upstairs to try and unfreeze the pipes but they were very small and may not do the job. Told the customer it was $450 per hour for us to unfreeze the pipes, after coming to an understanding the customer said, “stop wasting time showing me the price and fix it” got a signature and waited for the service manager to come with the heaters. Service for backed up toilet in kitchen bathroom: arrived to restaurant to find that bathroom toilet was backed up. Started by augering toilet and found that toilet was not clogged but line going from toilet into main was. Pulled toilet and found that there was not flange on this toilet. Found that toilet just sat on floor. Snaked line and got water to flow down the drain. Explained to customer how there was no flange and how flange would need to be installed to make proper seal to drainage line. Went I arrived I found that water was coming from bottom of toilet and so did cook in kitchen. Customer wanted me to place the toilet on the floor and hook up supply line due to it being that way prior to our arrival and there was no issues till it backed up. Set toilet and connected rigid supply line to keep toilet from moving. Gave customer estimate to replace flange but customer declined that service at this time. Tested toilet and found it not to move or leak. Customer is satisfied with se

Folkes arrived on01/03/2021 for a leak in the ceiling. Upon arrival customer told me what was going on and I went upstairs and checked. I started by flushing the toilet and I couldn’t find the leak. I then ran both the sink and the tub still no leak. I filled the tub up to the overflow and there was no leak. The tub drain all the way down and nothing. I began to flush the toilet a few more times and still could not get the leak to happen. I then suggested that the customer keep an eye on it as well as check when it rains next. It could be the roof. The customer will keep an eye on it and get back to us. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left. Customer will call office to make payment.

Service call for main line back up 12/27/21 Maine from septic tank to house trap was blocked. We snaked the line and we got it unblocked. Customer satisfied and house is draining again. Explained to customer that a double wye clean out should be installed outside where the main exits to the septic tank. As well as the house trap to be taken out and replaced with pvc. Customer is not interested in any fixes at this time. Payment and signatures were collected.

Arrived and found a slight leak from the relief valve. The boiler is at 17 psi while at 180 degrees. It is not over pressurizing. While I was here previously I remember the backflow had been clogged due to the water quality. Having this poor of water quality is going to damage a lot of the water components on the boiler. The water feeder is very clogged and barely feeds water which was mentioned last visit. Replaced the water feeder and the relief valve. All other components look okay at this time. Recommended to have the customer get a water quality test and see if the water softener is operating properly or there will be other issues like this in the future. Tested the system operation after repairs. The system is operational at his time.

Arrived to the home and the customer had stated one room connected to the master bedroom zone would get very hot. The rooms are right next to each other, the thermostat is in the master bedroom and the other room has an 8” vent going to it. The room is pretty small and at night when the door is closed the room gets very hot and keeps blowing since the thermostat is in the master bedroom and not satisfied yet. There is nit much we can do about this. I recommended to try and leave the door open as long as possible to have the air circulate through the return in the hallway more and also showed the customer how to adjust the air flow in the room at the vent, turned it down for them to restrict the air coming in the room. The customer said the heat is working great but this was theirs only issue. She is going to play with the vent to see which setting will make it most comfortable.

The customer stated a leak from the baseboard that flooded his basement. Found the leak coming from a 90 and it was very corroded. Repaired the leak and purged the system. Also had to replace the backflow preventer since it was clogged from dirty water. No other issues to report.

Folkes arrived on 11/22/2021 for a leak in ceiling. Upon arrival we looked and noticed there was a leak coming from the drain and the shut off. I tightened the packing nut on valve and it needs to be replaced. I sent an estimate to replace the tub and the drain with new valves. Customer is going to get back to us, however there is still small leak. I then thanked the customer for choosing folkes and left.
