Professional!

Late on Sunday we discovered our water heater was leaking badly. We called at 11 pm. Julius was at our home by 10 am the following day. He diagnosed the problem quickly and let us know our options. It was more than a simple water heater replacement and our laundry room is cramped and small, so he and his crew were here for much of the day. Julius was courteous and professional, as was his entire team. Highly recommended!

Technician Mike responded to a callback concerning a lavatory sink in the master bathroom leaking. Spartan installed both lavatory sinks in this master bathroom on 02/20/23. Mike came out on 02/24/23 to address a leak on one of the sinks. Today Mike responded to address a leak on the other one. Mike filled up the sink 2 times and drained it but could not recreate the leak. Jake said it was just like the other sink. A very small amount of water but not sure if the source. Mike then loosed the nut between the sink bowl and drain component. Put plumbers dope on the rubber gasket between the drain components and base of the sink, then retightened the nut. The sink was filled up a total of 6 times and drained. No leaks were found. THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING SPARTAN AS YOUR PROFESSIONAL HOME PLUMBING COMPANY!

On the first floor above the leak is a bathroom with a shower right about where the leak is. In order to see where the leak is coming from drywall will need removed 5o gain access to water lines. Technician Mike responded to a call concerning the tank of a toilet not holding water. Upon arrival Mike met Kayla and Joseph, JT and Kayla’s one year old son. JT is currently at work and unavailable by phone. The home was built in 2000 and JT has lived here since 2017. Kayla directed Mike to the entryway half bath right by the front door. There Mike seen that the water supply to that toilet had been shut off due to it constantly running. Upon investigation it was discovered that the toilet is a tower design and the seal at the base of the tank has failed. The tank components would need to be rebuilt to repair this existing toilet. Mike then asked Kayla if the home has a water softener due to scale build up inside the toilet tank. Kayla said yes and directed Mike to the downstairs mechanical room. There Mike looked over the 50 gallon A.O Smith natural gas water heater from 2014 and discovered that the thermal expansion tank right above the water heater had failed. It is now holding

Braden came out and met Andy and his wife. They were both interested in remodeling both bathrooms in their home. They were wanting to have us demo the jacuzzi tub in the master and a regular tub in the in the hallway. They were wanting to install a new tub in the hallway ready for tile and a new walk in shower for the master. Andy said he was interested in pulling the toilets himself. They also wanted us to replace their sink tops on the current cabinets they have. New customer supplied faucets would go on them. The shower valve for the walk in shower in the master would have to go on the other side of the shower ( both left hand units.) We let them know that we do have a construction specialist on staff. We presented them many options to tackle their investments they are interested. They let us know that they are getting 4-5 quotes on this project. They value us very highly and we appreciate that moving foreword. We will have to get confirmation on availability for stocked material

Technician Mike responded to a call concerning a customer supplied lavatory sink faucet leaking that Spartan recently installed. Upon arrival Mike met Jake who directed him to the master bathroom. There it was discovered that the leak was coming from the gasket between the sink bowl and drain components. Mike then loosened the nut below it, lowered the gasket, put plumbers dope on the gasket and retightened everything. While testing the work, Mike noticed the metal rod you pull up and push down to block the drain was a bit loose as well. This was tightened. Mike filled up and drained the sink a total of 4 times. No more leaks were discovered. THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING SPARTAN AS YOUR PROFESSIONAL HOME PLUMBING COMPANY!

Toby arrived at home to evaluate the homeowners 50 gallon propane power vent water heater. This unit is a 2018 install ao smith. This unit was not installed by Spartan Plumbing. Currently the unit is still under a part’s warranty. The homeowners have had trouble with this unit running out of hot water. There is only two people living in the home. After they noticed this they had found that there water heater is experiencing short cycling. When the unit needs to heat up the igniter will light the burner assembly for a couple seconds then turn back of. This cycle will continue until eventually it will light and stay lit in the normal operation. Before this unit does return to normal operation the unit does display a code of 6-3 flashes. Toby contacted AO Smith tech support with information regarding this heater. The tech support recommends a replacement of the igniter and flame sensor. Both parts being under warranty. Toby replaced both warranty water heater parts and tested unit. Unit

Braden the tech came on site and met the home owner Patrick. When we showed up he let us know that the sewer smell has been gone since we were out last week. The smell is not present. Patrick let us know that it’s nothing we would want to move forward with at the moment. He will let us know if it comes back. We recommend for him to do a smoke test on his drain system. He does have a larger home with a 2nd story. We found a clean out in the front yard. We can do all of our smoke testing from the sewer clean out in the front yard by the door. We also checked Patrick’s pressure and expansion tank for the home and everything on site tested OK. We showed Patrick the quote for the sewer smell before he left for work. Please give us a call if the smell comes back. We will be happy to take care of it for you.

Technicians Mike and Ashley responded to a call concerning discoloration in the ceiling of the entry way to a home. Upon arrival techs met Abhi who explained that him and his wife have lived there 4 years and the discoloration appeared within the last month. The master bathroom is right above the entryway. Right around the first of the year Abhi changed the shower head in the stand alone tile shower in the master bathroom. Abhi explained that before changing the shower head, the old shower head did not have good water pressure due to lime and calcium build up. Water would only go to the shower pan for the most part. Abhi and his wife had a water softener installed and changed out the shower head. Now water comes out covering all the enclosure in water. Abhi said the discoloration showed up after changing the shower head. Abhi then directed Mike and Ashley to the master bathroom. It is visible that the grout and caulking is aged. The drain for the shower is in the center of the pan.
