Today I came to Gord’s Parkland home because the furnace stopped working yesterday afternoon. Gord said the thermostat was dead yesterday. He installed new batteries and the furnace still wouldn’t work. Upon inspection of the thermostat I found Gord had not put the thermostat on the wall properly. I pushed it on the wall and the furnace fired up. We decided to not waste the trip today and do a tune up. Furnace tune up: Upon tune up and inspection of the almost 16 year old system I tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger static pressures, tested and tightened all electrical connections, all safety switches and control board. Furnace is in fair-poor condition. The furnace exhaust/inducing motor is vastly over amperage and over heating, this indicates impending failure. The gas valve, ignition system, control board,
