She has not experienced a sewer backup but knows the system is old and it’s only a mater of time. Upon camera inspection I found the internal cast iron system is in relatively good condition. The external clay piping system is in poor condition. Almost half of the the clay pipe connections are broken. This is allowing minor root intrusions. While this is not causing a backup now, once the pipe is broken, and roots are present, it is an inevitability that the line will fail.
