Today I came to Chris’s Roxboro home because the boiler is not working. On November 7 2025, the heat exchanger was cleaned, main circulation pump and air vents replaced. On November 25 the boiler stopped working. The technician found the condensate trap was plugged as a result of the cleaning. He cleaned the trap and the system worked until today. Upon inspection I found the boiler locked out on the gas pressure switch error code. This indicates a problem with either the venting, gas pressure switch, fan, or control board. On extensive investigation I found the gas pressure switch has failed and is stuck closed. I tried a new switch and the problem persisted. I took about the fan, gas valve, heat exchanger, and venting to look for flow restrictions of which I found none. Upon further testing I found the blower fan is not moving enough air through the system to allow ignition. This problem often results in damage to the control board as well.
