Today I came to Neal’s Capital Hill home to perform 2 furnace tune ups to get ready for winter. Neal moved in last December and does not know the status of maintenance. Neal also would like a higher humidity level and air conditioning on the second floor. Second floor furnace (2006): Upon tune up and inspection I Tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, static pressures, all safety switches and control board. The single stage, builder grade furnace is in fair condition. The flame sensor, gas valve, control board and safety switches are all working well within manufacturers specifications. The inducing motor is over amperage and will over heat, then fail. The blower motor has over heated and popped its sealed grease packs. This is like running you can with no oil in the engine and will result is the motor seizing. T
