Today I came to Leslie’s Strathcona home because one of the 2 furnaces has failed. Upon inspection I found the second floor and basement furnace has failed due to a failed inducing motor. With this 2006 furnace, the most common cause of the failure is a plugged secondary heat exchanger. Because of the age, condition, and high cost to repair the furnace, it should be replaced. The main floor furnace is only 3 years old and appears in excellent condition. The home is equipped with a 1 year old water heater of good quality.
