Arrived on site to perform an annual tune up on peerless boiler. After our initial inspection, we found that the thermocouple should be replaced as there was a lot of wear and tear on it. It was deteriorating due to the constant heat applied. Nothing else really stood out but it is a really old boiler. Mentioned to the customer that they should be thinking about replacement of both the boiler and indirect tank in the near future. Provided estimates to do the tune up, replace thermocouple, flush indirect tank, and JHCC. All estimates were accepted. We started on indirect. Flushed about 15 gallons from the tank to get as much sediment out as we could. Then we moved onto the boiler. Turned gas and power off and removed the burners. Inspected and cleaned the burners. Removed bad thermocouple and replaced it with a new one. Put burners back and restored power and gas to the unit. Tested gas pressure before the gas valve and at the manifold.
