An outdoor shower was installed, involving connection to the existing 3/4” hot and cold domestic water lines in the basement. Two 3/4” x 1/2” tees were installed to branch off new hot and cold supply lines for the shower. To allow for shutoff and maintenance, 1/2” quarter-turn ball valves were installed on both the hot and cold lines in the basement. Additionally, check valves were added to each line to prevent cross-connection between hot and cold water. Boiler drains were also installed on both lines in the basement to facilitate winterization. Externally, two 1/2” 90-degree fittings were used to route the hot and cold lines vertically along the side of the house to the shower location. Outside, 1/2” ball valves were installed on each vertical supply line to provide basic temperature control during use.
