Southwest HVAC is a one stop shop if you are looking for a professional organization that knows exactly what they are doing and gives you peace of mind regarding the quality of their craftsmanship. They will manage the process from beginning to end with professionals at both the senior level down to actual installers and permit obtainers. I deal with contractors as part of my profession and it was clear from the start that this company is honest, transparent and has high standards to “earn your business”. I had Southwest install a Daiken Fit inverter so I can only speak to this technology if that is what you are considering (gas furnaces and standard heat pumps were not on my radar). Estimate Process – While other HVAC vendors came to inspect my ancient HVAC system to provide a bid, Jamie from Southwest was the only one that measured the size of my house and provided me his hand drawings. Last thing they want to do is size a unit only to find out it was too large/small after the install. The bid they provided me was detailed and transparent breaking down the exact scope and cost. That level of transparency allowed me to remove an item from their bid that I didn’t want and gave me comfort that I knew exactly what I was signing up for on the contract. Their overall pricing was within reason compared to other competitors. The vendor told me it would take about +/- 3 days and they delivered on that timeline. This vendor makes every effort to understand your expectations and I really appreciated that because it prevents miscommunication and sets the bar for what they must do to exceed those expectations (which they did). Installation – On the start date of the job, the Project Manager showed up along with the crew chief to make sure several of my unique requests on the contract were relayed down the chain to the installers. I was even fortunate to have Julio, the General Manager, come for the kickoff. At one point after surveying the electric panel, Julio offered me two options to run the new power feed from the garage to the attic. The 1st option was the simple way but not aesthetically pleasing while the 2nd option was complex as it hid all the conduit away from plain view. I ultimately chose the simple way due to easier long term maintenance but the fact that Southwest HVAC would even give me the option to choose speaks volume about their transparency. In Julio’s words, offering me this option was not about what was easy for Southwest but about keeping the customer happy with the project’s end result. The installation crew also did an excellent job of cleaning up the interior of the house at the end of each day. Daiken Fit – While it has only been two weeks since the install, the unit is performing as expected and the thermostat control panel is first class. Besides performing standard temperature control, this panel also allows me to turn off the Wifi (reduce EMF), measure indoor air quality and schedule the fan for standard air circulation. Permit – Post installation, your project will need to pass Southwest’s duct install with a HERS test (CA requires +95% efficiency) before the city pass the system install for permit signoff. I talked to the HERS tester who has been performing independent testing for years. He told me he has never failed a Southwest duct install, even for a vendor as large as them. If every contractor ran the same process and applied the same standards as Southwest HVAC, the home improvement and maintenance process would be so much more pleasant.
This was not a simple installation of a new HVAC system. I have a 2 story home built in 1928 that still had the original gravity furnaces and 2 wall a/c units. It was time to modernize. To do that, we had to find a path from the basement to the 2nd floor for the fresh air return required in modern HVAC systems. The solution was using the unused space in the back of the coat closet on the first floor that provided access to the 2nd floor. The first floor of this old house is tiled, including the coat closet. The crew had to cut through the tile and a 4” concrete base - a messy job but the guys cleaned up at the end of each day. Now I have modern, efficient Daikin HVAC and the character of my home was preserved. One cannot see where the holes in the walls were patched - the finish work is excellent!
Ramon was super friendly and helpful. He provided good suggestions and solutions. He explained everything clearly. I'd be very happy to have him back for my next service call.
We've used Southwest HVAC for maintenance and repairs ever since they installed our system nearly a decade ago. They are honest and reliable. We were having an issue with our furnace. Ramon showed up as promised and quickly identified and resolved the problem.
Very knowledgeable, extremely efficient and very personable.
Ramon did a great work. He was on time, professional and communicated with us about the service that he did.
I really appreciated that he is very experienced and explained everything to us. Thanks so much!!
After evaluating 3 different suppliers, we went with SouthWest HVAC. Jaime provided equipment specifications for review, provided various system solutions and promptly answered all our questions. We didn’t feel pressured (like other suppliers) to decide before a promotional price expiration. Jaime worked with us to fit the 4 ton system in the 3 ton location to minimize installation modifications. Roman, Daniel, and Peewee did a great job of replacing our old system in 1.5 days while using protective covering over the work area. They efficiently worked together sharing tasks and cleaned up after completion. I highly recommend SouthWest for your HVAC installation and services needs.
Mr. Giovani Isais quailty of service was EXCELENT, informed me on what the problem was and informed me of the things that need to be done. He fixed the problem in no time. I would and have reconmened Southwest HVAC service.
Giovani I. came out to do a maintenance service on my Mini Split system. He did a great job on cleaning the filters on all the units. He answered all my questions. He was polite, knowledgeable and he also put on shoe coverings before he came into the house, which I loved.
The technician had good technical knowledge and great personal skills. Happy to have him back to do the quick repair.
Very Challenging no heat problem on a unit behind on maintenance. Ramon stuck with it and found and resolved the issue.
Would not go with anyone else. Informative, on time, efficient, gives various cost options and is lovely all around.
