Earlier today, I responded to a service call for a malfunctioning central air conditioning system. Upon inspection, I found that the Rheem 3-ton condenser unit had a faulty contactor, preventing the compressor from engaging. I first tested the contactor and confirmed it was not providing proper electrical continuity. I then carefully replaced the contactor with a new Rheem-approved component. After reassembling the unit and performing a system check, the AC is now operating at full cooling capacity and the homeowners are comfortable again.
