I am a skilled professional that works for a Sheldon's Heating & Air Conditioning company. I was assigned to check in with a customer and check the attic access and outdoor unit location. I started at the attic and replaced the filter and checked the ductwork. The unit was running, so I checked the temperature and found it was dropping. I went downstairs to the outdoor unit and did the preventive maintenance. I checked the electrical components and found that the capacitor was getting low. I informed the customer that if left alone, it would have irreversible damage to the compressor and motor. I also recommended installing a compressor start kit to help the lifespan of the compressor by lowering the amps draw. The compressor was approved to do the work. I removed the old capacitor and installed the new one, making sure it was secured and wired correctly. I then installed the compressor start kit and made sure it was secured and wired correctly.
