I was called to a customer's home to repair a leaking shower/tub. Upon inspection, I found that the issue was a failed cartridge. I attempted to remove the handle, but the retaining screw was heavily calcified and seized, preventing removal. Due to the condition of the valve and components, a full replacement was necessary. To access the plumbing, I opened the wall and installed a 6" x 9" cover plate. I removed and replaced the complete shower valve, soldered all connections to ensure a proper seal, and installed a new tub diverter. I restored water service and tested the system for leaks, and cleaned and secured the work area. The warranty for the repair is one year on parts and labor.
I went out to a customer's home to inspect a leak from the sink. Upon inspection, I found that there were two leaks, one on the ABS and another on the kitchen sink. The P-trap was leaking. I will need to replace the P-trap. The customer approved the estimate and proceeded with the repair.
