Very unhappy

Weather Tight was a letdown from the very start. From the salesperson that told me I couldn’t have my choice of outside color option- claiming that my neutral choice of sandstone would have to be “painted” aluminum- to the very end- when we were sent a letter informing us that a lien from the company was dropped because we paid the balance in full upon completion of the job. Any homeowner KNOWS that you NEVER pay in full for a job until it’s complete. And yet- Wearher Tight actually penalized us by doing that- thereby making it difficult for us if we thought the job wasn’t done right. Not only are our windows too dark with our siding- but I feel very overpriced as well. And the 2 trustworthy guys on the commercial- Tod & Todd- apparently they aren’t even associated with the company anymore- or so the salesperson said. The communication from this company was horrible! I got the same copy & paste email every single week. Except at the very end when they sent an email a day before installation telling me to check an email from over a month ago to see details for installation day- forcing me to dig for an email that had details for the email they just sent! So now our windows are too dark- forcing us to spend additional money to find a contractor that will frame them out in a color that works with our siding. Unfortunately we are forced to work with this company to have 3 more windows installed at a later date so they match. The only bright spot was the professional installation team that were efficient, friendly & great guys. If you’re looking for windows- take my experience & look elsewhere.

Response from Weather Tight Corporation:

Darlene- Thank you for taking the time to share your experience about Weather Tight. While we never like to see a customer had a less than 5-start experience with us, it is important that we read each and every review so that we can provide continual improvement internally and work to become better. Upon review of your job, we wanted to help clear up a couple items you mentioned. We have tried to contact you over the last week, and have not heard back from you, so we are more than happy to address these items further in person or over the phone if there are still unanswered questions. Weather Tight does not place a lien on any property until installation is completed and payment is not received for over 90 days. Wisconsin Law states we must send a “Release of Lien” to all homeowners upon receiving final payment-this is not releasing a Lien that is in place, it is releasing our right to lien the property in future as there is no payment owed. Although we included a letter with the Release of Lien paperwork explaining this process, we understand it can be confusing and apologize for the confusion. Please be assured that there was no lien placed on your property. Weather Tight also honors it’s service warranty agreement and if there were challenges that you felt the job was not done right, we would do what we could to make them right, and would not be related to the Release of Lien. In regards to color matching, we understand your frustration with the color selected and you did decide you would rather not go with a painted sandstone color and selected the earthtone color available. We apologize if you are not happy with this color selection and we are more than happy to discuss this with you or provide paperwork with your selected colors. Although we have become an Employee Owned Company (ESOP)- Tod & Todd are still very much involved in our day to day operations and we apologize if this was miscommunicated to you. They are very much associated with our company, and also read each and every review and comment that is brought back to us. Our Employee Ownership status does not remove Tod & Todd from the company. It simply allows our Employees to share in the ownership and in return, they all take great pride in the work we put out (and also read all reviews), as the livelihood of the company and success of the company directly affects them. If anything, it allows all employees that you work with to take accountability as they are also an “Owner”. Again, we apologize if this was addressed incorrectly to you. In regards to our communication, we try our very best to provide the most up to date information through our weekly tracker email. Once an order is placed with our manufacturer, and I am sure most individuals are aware, COVID has put a strain on the manufacturing industry (not just home improvements) and the delays have affected most. We do our part to remain honest and open with customers, and while your tracker email may not move from week to week, and there is an option to opt out of the emails, we feel it is important to allow customers the opportunity to see when the tracker does move or have an easy access way to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. As one of our core values, we try to remain Supportive to our customers as well as Truthful, so we feel the tracker provides at least an update or a means to reach out with questions- as there can be weeks of no contact as the product is being made and shipped. We also have record of trying to contact you by phone over 33 times in attempts to schedule your install. I am unsure if we have the wrong number on file or potentially it is blocked, but we have tried to contact you in other ways than email, as we feel it is important to communicate with our customers. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the installation scheduling email. We appreciate that feedback and we are currently working through a better process to allow customers an easier time to be ready for install. We apologize that email got buried, but we thank you for bringing this to our attention so that we can work to improve that customer experience process. We understand we are working on correcting some windows for you- and we want to make sure we can reach you to resolve this in a timely fashion. If you could please reach back out to us, so we can make sure we have the right number and/or email to contact you- as we have not had success in our attempts and would like to at least do what we can to make this right for you. Thank you again.

We love our new doors. The Lock system on the front door is what we needed to have the security we wanted. No one offered a better product for the price we paid.
