Finished replacing failed 15-year-old Goodman with new American Standard 16 SEER system. Full day job! Old unit had catastrophic compressor failure. New installation includes properly sized return air drop, new thermostat, and secondary drain pan with wet switch for safety. Made minor repairs to ductwork while system was open. Calibrated system for optimal operation. Registered warranty for customer. All debris removed and area left spotless. System running beautifully - house cooling evenly now. Instructed homeowner on proper filter replacement schedule.
Performed routine maintenance check on Lennox system (approx. 5 yrs old). Cleaned condensate pan & treated w/tablets to prevent algae. Coils in good condition - minor cleaning done. Filter replaced (customer had spares on hand). Checked all electrical components & connections - all good. System operating at proper pressures. No refrigerant needed. Recommended surge protector installation to protect circuit board during storm season. Will follow up next week with quote. Unit running quietly & efficiently after service.
Completed installation of new 3-ton Carrier Infinity 19VS system w/ variable speed compressor. Removed old R22 unit and updated lineset. System includes new air handler, programmable thermostat, and upgraded ductwork at supply plenum. Vacuum-tested system to 500 microns before charging. All operations normal during testing. Efficiency rating is 19 SEER - should see significant energy savings compared to 10 SEER old unit. Left yard and work areas clean. Customer very satisfied.
Installed Aprilaire 700 whole-home humidifier today. Connected to supply plenum with proper ductwork modifications. Ran new water line from nearby utility sink. Set up drain properly. Wired humidistat to existing HVAC control system for automatic operation. Calibrated to maintain 40% relative humidity. Showed homeowner how to adjust settings and perform basic maintenance. Should resolve dry air issues they've been experiencing. Will drastically improve comfort level during heating season and reduce static electricity problems throughout home.
Just finished seasonal maintenance on Trane XR16 system. Cleaned condenser coils (they were FILTHY!), checked refrigerant pressure (spot on), and replaced air filter. Inspected electrical connections and tightened several loose terminals on contactor. Cleaned condensate drain line with nitrogen blast - was partially clogged. Unit running at peak efficiency now, just in time for summer heat. Recommended duct cleaning next visit due to visible dust accumulation. Great folks, super friendly dog!
Completed UV light installation in air handler today. System needed better air quality protection. Mounted UV-C germicidal lamp after main filter to maximize effectiveness. Ensured proper shielding and safety cutoffs are functioning correctly. Explained maintenance schedule to homeowner - bulb replacement needed annually. Left extra protective eyewear in utility closet for when filter changes are done. System now providing enhanced protection against airborne contaminants and surface biofilm on coils. Homeowner already noticed reduction in musty odor.
