I am a home service technician, and I completed two service calls today. The first call was for a science lab, where the compressor was grounded out. I recommended replacing the compressor but was not aware of the type of refrigerant (R22 or R410a) used in the system. The data tag on the compressor was completely faded, making it difficult to determine the exact type of refrigerant. The second call was for a mini split electrical room, where the unit was cooling but had a leak in the evaporator coil. I adjusted the pump at an angle to get proper float adjustment and found that the pump was draining normally, but there was a bit of excessive left-over water that I couldn't vacuum out.
