I was called to a home to check on a cooling system that was not cooling. I arrived and found that the thermostat was cycling on and off, and the air conditioner was not producing any cool air. I checked the air filter and found that it was dirty, so I replaced it. I also checked the drain line and found that it was flowing properly. I checked the safety floats and found that they were working properly. I then washed the condenser coil and tested the starting components. I found that the compressor/fan motor starter was out of tolerance and was replaced. I also performed amp draws on all motors and tightened all electrical connections. After completing these steps, the system was functioning properly.
