Fix our Furnace

The air conditioner wasn't working so my neighbor recommended Hurlburt Heating and Plumbing, I called them and they came over the same day. My furnace needed a new motor! They had the part with them and did a really good job of cleaning up when they were done.

Help us out

We were out of town and my 19 year old daughter was home alone, of course this is when our heating and cooling system decides to stop working! I did the google thing and there is Hurlburt, called them and they sent a guy right over, done! I liked that the office lady said all of their technicians are drug and background checked since my daughter was home. We'll be using them in the future.

They're professional to the core, Our air conditioner was not blowing cold air and they found the leak. It's not worth fixing since it's so old so we're having Hulburt Heating & Plumbing install a new furnace and a/c unit.

Responded to gas leak report, where gas was shut off to home with 12-20 year old furnace. Performed pressure test which revealed leaking gas valve at furnace and gas line to stove. Disconnected and capped gas line for stove (customer converting to electric), replaced furnace gas valve, and pressurized system to 25 PSI, confirming stable pressure over 25-minute observation period. System now holding pressure properly awaiting city inspection approval.

Diagnosed furnace intermittent shutdown issue in 10+ year old unit. Discovered pressure tubing had become stretched and detached from draft housing. Cut damaged section of tubing, reattached securely to draft housing, and verified no obstructions in pressure switch tubing or housing. System returned to normal operation with proper draft pressure sensing.

Investigated reported water leak on PVC drain stack in basement. Customer noted dripping increased during water usage from upper floor. Upon thorough inspection and testing of the system by flushing toilets, running tub water and other fixtures, could not replicate the reported leak. Observed small moisture at bottom of 90-degree elbow connecting to second-floor stack, possibly condensation-related. Advised customer to monitor the situation and contact for follow-up if leaking persists.

Installed variable speed combustion inducer assembly on customer's furnace. During installation, discovered signs of deterioration in the secondary heat exchanger with buildup in the collector box. Visual inspection confirmed no external pinholes, but internal degradation is evident in early stages as documented in photos showing moisture accumulation and significant corrosion on metal components. Advised homeowner of findings and discussed options for future furnace replacement while maintaining current heating capabilities.

Performed scheduled furnace tune-up on 2-year-old system. Inspected and verified clean filter and humidifier pad, balanced blower, functional electrical components, and clear condensate lines. Heat exchanger inspection showed no compromises with proper temperature rise (60-70°F). Diagnostic testing confirmed correct gas pressure and proper zone operation throughout all systems. All components functioning within manufacturer specifications.

Performed comprehensive furnace tune-up on aging 10-15 year old unit. Replaced customer-supplied dirty filter, verified blower was clean and balanced. Discovered inducer motor producing excessive noise with capacitor out of specification. Completed full electrical component inspection with remaining components within normal parameters. Heat exchanger inspection revealed no compromises but identified areas of concern which were discussed with customer. System testing confirmed proper operation with appropriate gas pressures and 50-degree temperature rise in low setting. Provided recommendations for both repairs and replacement options given the unit's age and condition.

Responded to no heat complaint for 10+ year old Trane furnace that was attempting to start but not engaging. Diagnostic testing revealed failing blower motor which was temporarily restored to operation with capacitor boost. Presented repair options to customer and scheduled service advisor consultation to discuss replacement of blower motor versus complete system replacement due to age of equipment and potential for additional component failures.

Diagnosed boiler malfunction where unit would fire up with only partial burner lighting, then shut down with ignition error code. Inspection revealed completely disintegrated flame sensor gaskets and a missing heat exchanger screw causing combusted gas to escape. Identified secondary issue with vibrating inducer motor. Removed flame sensors for inspection and advised customer that replacement sensors would be needed immediately, with possible full system replacement recommended due to 15-year system age.
