Upon arrival unit was turned off. Turned unit on and the air handler and condenser fan turned on but no compressor. The compressor was attempting to turn on but was not fully starting. Checked the capacitor. It was rated at 45/5 and was reading 44/5 which is good. Checked the electrical windings of the compressor and found they were getting very weak. Installed a hard start capacitor to assist the compressor turning on. Started and checked the compressor amps. When running the compressor amps were at 22.4 and the manufacturer states the maximum amps for the compressor should be 23.1. With the amps so high it is hard to say how much longer the system will last. Took pictures and measurements for a replacement quote.
