Mixed up the hot and cold

Mark was extremely polite and kept the work area clean. He was installing a u by moen for the first time and did not notice that there was specific spots for the Hot and Cold inputs. As a result the shower only runs ice cold.

Response from Southside Plumbing, INC:

I'm so sorry to hear about the mix-up, but hope you are now enjoying hot water after we fixed the mistake! We value your business and hope you are now satisfied. Thanks for taking the time to let us know about your experience and for giving us a chance to fix it.

Southside plumbing replaced the hose bib in the basement that had frozen and burst. Tested for leaks and new hose bib was working well when we left. Also tightened the faucet on right side sink in master bathroom that had come loose, and replaced the hot water flex to her same sink that began to leak while I was working under the sink. Advised the homeowner there would be no warranty provided for those two services.

The client and I talked about a lot of things relating to water heaters and softeners. There is a 1” gas line, presently. Adding a tankless will require a bigger gas pipe or increasing the gas pressure coming into the house. This will require individual gas regulators placed at every gas appliance. This would require an added expense. The existing 2” pvc exhaust should be increased to 3” for any water heater installation. The 75 gallon power vent would require two 3” pipes. The softener can be installed by the mainline valve tree with the addition of a drain for the softener discharge. I gave estimates for work. I also gave a price to flush the existing water heater and to change out the existing anode rod. From my initial research, a 2” pipe can not exceed 25’ with 3 elbows. The existing run has, at least, 4 elbows and 1 45. The existing run exceeds allowances but I am confirming my initial numbers.

The cold water line to the washing machine had frozen and no water was getting to the washing machine. Southside Plumbing used a pipe thawing machine to thaw out the pipes and restore flow to the laundry connections. There are no burst sections of pipe and further repair is not necessary. While on site Southside Plumbing also tightened up a couple of faucet handles and also adjusted a toilet chain that we previously set. The toilet handle was moving as it was being flushed and as a result the flapper was held up by the handle. The handle was tightened and the chain was adjusted.

Sump Pump System Repair: Responding to a client's apprehensions regarding possible basement flooding, I initiated a comprehensive inspection to uncover the root causes of concerns. Upon meticulous examination, I identified issues within the sump pump system, specifically detecting a worn-out float switch and clogged discharge pipe. To address these concerns, I replaced the worn-out float switch and cleared the clog in the discharge pipe. These strategic optimizations not only ensure the reliable and effective operation of the sump pump but also act as a robust preventative measure, fortifying the system against potential water damage.

Customer is having problems with pressure and water temperature. The master bathroom shower is not working as it should. It is very hard to temper the water. It takes a longer time, than usual, to get hot water. Once it gets hot, it doesn’t cool down very quickly. The cartridge, for the Moen shower, is not functioning as it should, the house is less than 2 years old. While searching for a cause for the cause of the failed cartridge, I found static house pressure to be 114 psi. There is a pressure reducing valve on the main line but it has absolutely failed. The pressure far exceeds code maximum. The pressure reducing valve needs to be replaced to protect the home’s plumbing system from future problems and increase the longevity of the fixtures. The cartridge for the master shower should also be replaced because that has also failed, due to the high pressure. **House pressure has to be less than 80 psi** - I cleaned and rebuilt the master bath shower valve and tested for leaks and prop
