I had the most amazing experience from Evans. Called them to get a quote on a new AC/Furnace. Richard was out to the house within hours of my call to review my requirements/needs. Measured everything and provided a quote on site. During the review event noted a small issue with my second furnace and fixed it. The install was great! Steve did an a phenomenal job on everything (clean and careful). Treated everything like it was their own home. Would highly recommend Evans Heating & Cooling. My first time using their service but now have a customer for life. Thank you!

Gary was very polite, informative and quick while doing a maintenance on our furnace and AC! I have had Evans in before for the furnace maintenance and always been satisfied with their service. First time for an AC maintenance and needed a new part due to noise vibration which has solved our problem. I would definitely recommend Evans Heating and Cooling for your needs!

Work Performed Responded to call regarding high humidity in the garage (furnace located in garage with loft apartment above). Inspected ductwork and confirmed that supply ducts had previously been open into the garage. No return air vents in garage. Supply ducts were slightly open, causing positive pressure in garage, no dehumidification is happening because air is not returning. Reviewed code requirements and furnace manufacturer’s manual: supply or return air openings into a garage are not permitted. Discussed findings with client. Client has since sealed all garage supply air vents to bring the system into code compliance. Recommended and confirmed client’s plan to place a dehumidifier in the garage to address humidity issues independently. Or install an air exchange system in garage. Advised furnace needs to be heated in winter because it is high efficient and cannot freeze. Performed full maintenance on both high-efficiency furnaces (garage/loft unit and house unit). Results Fur

Work Performed Performed full maintenance on upstairs fireplace, including cleaning of a heavily soiled pilot assembly. Performed full maintenance on Weil-McLain high-efficiency boiler per manufacturer specifications. Lubricated boiler motor and cleared condensate drain trap. Took amp draws and thoroughly explained system operation to homeowner. Discussed possible future cooling options including mini-split heat pumps or an attic air handler to condition the top floor; homeowner will call when ready for a quote. Results Upstairs fireplace is clean and operating normally after pilot assembly service. Weil-McLain boiler is operating within specifications. No concerns found at this time. Maintenance Checklist – Fireplace Cleaned soiled pilot assembly. Cleaned glass and burner assembly. Inspected logs, embers, and flame pattern. Verified blower operation and safety controls. Work Performed Responded to no heat call. Diagnosed Gibson furnace and found hot surface ignitor (HSI) not functioning. Quoted client on HSI replacement; client chose universal HSI option. Did not have universal HSI on truck at time of visit. Will check stock and order if necessary. Discussed Comfort Club membership and maintenance; client declined at this time. Results Furnace is currently not operational until HSI is replaced. Full diagnostic and safety check will be completed with the HSI replacement. Recommendations Return visit required to replace HSI and complete diagnostic and safety inspection. Availability of part may be limited as it is the end of August and heating suppliers may not have stock on hand.
Furnace and Heat Pump Installation
Work Performed Responded to no hot water call. Found water heater attempting to ignite but shutting down immediately. Removed burner tray, cleaned flame rod and igniter assembly. Noticed insulation around unit was wet. Spoke with homeowner’s father who explained a nearby water hose had burst, spraying water onto the water heater. Determined the water damage was likely causing grounding/connection issues with the Intelli-Vent gas valve. Replaced ground rod and ensured proper grounding. Removed wet insulation and advised client to leave side panel open to allow drying. Recommended use of a dehumidifier to speed up the process. Tested system through four on/off cycles to confirm ignition and shutdown sequences. Results Water heater successfully ignited and cycled on and off multiple times. Gas valve shut down properly on its own, with no signs of sticking, overpressure, or overheating. No water dripping observed from pressure relief valve. Cannot guarantee this will be a permanent repair
Work Performed Inspected fireplace due to client and insurance concerns regarding soot above the termination. Verified installation against manufacturer specifications and current gas codes. Inspected operation and condition of unit. Results Fireplace installation is to code (termination is 12 inches to unvented soffit, acceptable per manufacturer and gas code). Soot observed above termination is a normal byproduct of operation and can be wiped/cleaned off. Fireplace is operating normally and is in very good condition; client keeps unit well maintained. Blower wheel is seized and requires replacement. Optional: A heat shield can be added on the exhaust to help reduce buildup on the wall. Recommendations Provide estimate for blower wheel replacement. Provide optional estimate for exhaust heat shield.(may not be available)

Client declined full maintenance at this time.
