Service Performed: System Inspection and Cycle Testing. Status: Resolved / Maintenance Recommendation Provided. Technical Observations Electrical Inspection: Inspected the furnace control board; identified and tightened loose thermostat terminal connections to ensure signal integrity. Operational Testing: Performed initial test fire with blower doors removed to verify sequence of operation. Reinstalled doors and confirmed successful ignition and sustained operation in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 heating cycles. Airflow & Limit Diagnostics: * Tested the system using the existing, heavily soiled air filter. Results: The furnace experienced a "High Limit" trip (overheating) after approximately 4.5 minutes. Subsequent testing mirrored the client’s reported symptoms, with the unit short-cycling (7 minutes ON / 3 minutes OFF). Root Cause: Restricted airflow due to the depleted filter caused internal temperatures to exceed safe operating limits, triggering a safety shutdown. Recom
Status: Callback Resolved. Issue: Furnace non-operational, Thermostat calling for heat but no ignition. Findings & Diagnostics Initial Assessment: Upon arrival, the system was unresponsive despite a demand for heat from the thermostat. Thermostat Inspection: Verified wiring integrity at the thermostat sub-base. After reseating the unit, the furnace initiated the startup sequence. Ignition Failure: The hot surface ignitor glowed as intended, however, the gas valve failed to open, resulting in a lockout. Fault Isolation: Diagnosed a loose connection at the gas valve. By securing and manipulating the wiring harness, the gas valve successfully opened. Testing: Verified that the gas valve received steady, correct voltage. Manometer testing confirmed stable gas pressures with no significant fluctuations during operation. Resolution: The system was cycled multiple times to ensure reliability. The furnace operated correctly in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 heating modes without furt
Furnace Maintenance: Replaced homeowner provided media filter (16x25x1) and added orientation arrows for proper set up. Furance was not engaging into second stage gas changed the pin P5 from none to 10. Flushed the condensate P-trap and drain lines to maintain clear, efficient flow.
