Joanne my contact at the office was always courteous and exceptionally efficient. From my initial contact, to ordering, installation and follow up service. No hidden fees or warranty issues. Shortly after installation (which was arranged in 24hrs) I called. Discussed the concerns I was having and arranged for a technician to drop by the very day. Andrew solved the issue and explained how he adjusted it. He also advised how to further manage and if I have any questions or issues to call Evan’s and a technician will be dispatched asap. Lennox furnace service call Upon arrival, customer showed water leaking from the side of the furnace. Upon inspection and testing found that there was a hairline crack in the black condensate trap. Went ahead and removed and replaced with a new trap, filled up with water and tested to ensure that it is draining properly into the drain. Labour and cost of part are covered under the customers warranty Unit is working safely and efficiently at this time
Furnace Startup Noise & Duct Assessment Equipment: Furnace Installed ~6 Months Ago Service Performed: • Assessed complaint of loud banging/snapping noise on furnace start-up • Checked static pressure and blower speed – both set correctly for the unit • Observed that the noise originates from the ductwork above the furnace, not from ignition, gas, or components within the furnace itself • Tested ignition sequence and gas safety controls – no safety concerns found • Installed piece of strap to support return vent; this has likely reduced or stopped the noise during pressure fluctuations Cause of Noise: • Furnace blower creates rapid pressure variations at start-up • This can cause flexible or thin sheet metal duct sections to “snap” as pressure equalizes • This is a duct dynamics issue, not a furnace safety issue with gas or ignition Recommendations: • Replace air filter regularly – at least every two months, as a cleaner filter helps maintain stable airflow and reduces
Hot water was 97f coming out of mixing valve with tank set very high. Set water heater back to “A” and adjusted mixing valve. Temp clamp on pipe out of mixing valve was 127f and thermometer at hot water tap was reading upwards of 135f after adjusting the mixing valve. Customer is much happier with this as she likes her water on the hotter side.
Gas repair service call Upon arrival, customer stated that they had someone come to look at their gas and found no leaks, but they were B tagged for not having any silicone around there two 2 inch vent pipes for there furnace. Customer went and did repairs already and took pictures to document of the silicone around both pipes. Went and cleared the tag as the repair is good and to code at this time. Customer stated they didn’t want anything’s else to be looked at this time Everything is safe at this time
Fixed gas leak on supply line. Removed 2 street 90s from water heater gas line. Ensured furnace and water heater were both running before leaving. Current water heater 16-17 years old, in poor condition. Rust developing at seams, only a matter of time before it lets go. Strongly recommend replacing water heater in the near future.
Generalaire humidifier repair Arrived on site and installed new humidistat control. Tested humidistat operation, is coming on accordingly at 35%, also ensured that the humidifier pad is good as well as the drain line is clear and draining well. Units is working safely and efficiently at this time Customer said they would pay by E transfer
Lennox comfort couch maintenance Arrived on site and preformed maintenance All tests on the furnace came back good except for the inducer. The inducer motor is noisey and starting to over amp. Will fail in time and recommend replacing and will have to office reach out to quote replacement. Unit was B tagged for not having fresh air go outside. Customer already has a contractor to come and install new venting. Unit is running safely and efficiently at this time
Aprilaire humidifier repair. Customer complaint of low humidity in the house. Tested humidifier and is coming on correctly at 35% and techs humidistat is reading 35 to 36%. Saddle valve needed to be open a little bit more as there wasn’t very much water flow coming through. Customer will monitor the humidity levels for the next week. Issue could have been with the saddle valve not being open enough but unit is working correctly no charge warranty for the customer.
Bryant service call Upon arrival, unit was making noise and cause of noise is coming from the inducer motor starting to rub due to a bad bearing and is likely to fail. Unit is still working at this time but do not know how long the motor will last. Quoted customer repair cost of motor replacement. Customer went with a new furnace
Luxaire furnace repair Arrived at site and installed new gas valve Tested unit and adjusted gas pressure in all stages to ensure proper function and no other issues. Unit is working safely and efficiently at this time Will take time to heat the house up.
