Absolutely top notch service! From the start of the appointment right through the work and everything in between, the tech was awesome. Such a nice man, easy to talk to and explain what I saw & heard. So glad he found my concerns were legit. I forgot to ask if the freezing harmed our new A/C unit in any way but I will assume that since this was raised with me that all is good. That would be devastating since it is brand new & a lot of money. Assume this service call is not going to be billed as it is an installation issue.

Invoice Summary Work Performed: Attended to reported gas leak originally flagged by another contractor using a high-sensitivity electronic sniffer. Visually inspected and soap-tested all accessible joints — no signs of active gas leaks found. I also did a thorough sniff test and didn’t detect any gas smells during the time I was there. Results: No active gas leaks detected at this time. Advised client that the floor drain in the middle of the room may have a dried-out trap, which could be causing sewer-type smells. If the issue persists, a full pressure test of the gas system could be done, but client agreed it doesn’t seem necessary at the moment.

Work Performed: Reconnected and reinstalled ductless AC unit. Found unit missing a disconnect box — installed new disconnect for proper electrical safety. Adjusted and secured the drain line, taped joints, and sealed the wall penetration where the line set enters the home. Results: Tested system — 20° temperature drop confirmed (80°F in the apartment, 60°F air coming out). System is now operating normally.

Work Performed: No cooling call. Upon arrival, found the Lennox air conditioner not running. Inspected the system and discovered the Nest thermostat was incorrectly wired for a heat pump configuration, which was preventing cooling. Rewired the thermostat to properly operate the AC system. Results: System is now running. The Lennox condenser (installed around 2019–2021) was very clogged with debris and is overdue for a proper coil cleaning. Informed the client that full AC maintenance is needed, but they declined at this time. Home is currently under renovation, and ductwork could not be properly inspected. Advised client to have the ducts professionally cleaned to verify overall airflow. While the AC is mechanically operating and electrical components are functioning correctly, we cannot confirm refrigerant charge or airflow performance without completing maintenance.

Work Performed: No cooling call on an estimated 2017 Daikin air conditioner. Used monitoring tools to assess system. Found disconnect box melted with seized/pushed-in button causing an unsafe condition—high-voltage could not be safely turned off due to possible welded contacts. Replaced disconnect box to restore safe control of power. Found capacitor reading 42.8 µF (should be 45 µF). Replaced capacitor. Fired up unit. Client reports no professional maintenance through Evan’s but has rinsed coil with a hose themselves. Results: Inspected outdoor coil – appears in fair condition Checked amp draw – compressor drawing 16 amps and liquid line pressure rising to ~500 psi Inspected indoor evaporator coil – no visible blockages Verified secondary heat exchanger and blower speed – blower set to correct airflow for 3-ton system Cleaned condenser coil thoroughly for best operation After cleaning, pressures more stable but high-side pressure still fluctuating and compressor remains over-amping

Results: Found failed capacitor — Herm side reading 1.9 µF (should be 45 µF) Replaced capacitor under parts warranty (labour not covered) Noticed condenser coil was very dirty — recommended and performed full maintenance While testing system, found refrigerant was low — likely leak present Advised client of options Client agreed to add leak sealant and refrigerant to bring system to peak efficiency Checked temperature drop: 20°F — system cooling well Verified drainage and inspected evaporator coil (piston system) — all looks good Superheat in line with manufacturer specs System operating normally at this time Client joined Comfort Club for both furnace and AC to take advantage of future savings
