Response from Evans Heating & Cooling:
We are so grateful for your 5-star review.
Work Performed: Upon arrival, furnace circuit board displayed an error code for the pressure switch. Found that the air fan of the pressure switch was stuck in the closed position. Advised the customer that the furnace needed maintenance. Removed the pressure switch tubing, checked for blockages, and manually activated the pressure switch by blowing through the tubing. Determined that the pressure switch was stuck in the closed position but temporarily freed up. Performed a manometer test on the inducer motor, confirming that it is operating at a higher pressure rating than the pressure switch (which is good). Pressure switch may need replacement in the future if the issue recurs. Maintenance Performed: Conducted a full furnace maintenance, including: ✅ Temperature rise check ✅ Combustion analysis ✅ Full safety check ✅ Electrical component check (voltage verified) ✅ Flame sensor cleaning After maintenance, the furnace is operating normally at this time. Additional Recommendations: Fur
Customer complaint: Pilot light keeps going out and a banging noise from the fireplace. Tested fireplace and thermopile—found low millivolt reading. Advised customer that the thermopile needed replacement and proceeded with the replacement. After replacement, the fireplace was still shutting off after about one minute. Inspected flames and found the burner tray was shooting flames from the bottom. Removed the burner tray, cleaned out all carbon buildup, and reinstalled components. Tested the fireplace again—now operating normally with no flames coming from the bottom of the burner tray. Ran the fireplace for 15 minutes continuously with no issues. Possible cause of earlier shutdown: A spill switch or over-temperature sensor detecting unsafe conditions due to flames burning underneath the burner tray. Fireplace is now operating normally and within gas codes and manufacturer recommendations. Advised customer to have Evans perform a deep cleaning on the fireplace once a year due to carbon
Carrier furnace repair. Upon arrival system was cycling on pressure switch error. After performing diagnostics found condensate trap was clogged and heat exchanger was completely full of water. Drained excessive amounts of water, cleaned condensate trap and ensured rest of furnace drain was clear of blockages. Performed CO test, within range. Whie there are no signs currently of any damage to the heat exchanger, it is very likely all that water has taken some life expectancy off the heat exchanger Furnace was working consistently when leaving home, had run steadily since fixing clogged condensate trap. Customer noted loud metal banging sounds in ductwork when home is around 19-20 deg C, showed me video, sounds like a piece of metal hitting another piece. Inspected ductwork for dampers , found none. Advised customer to monitor situation and let us know if it returns Replaced leaking union for fireplace. Iron shaving was preventing old union from making proper seal
Furnace Maintenance: Flushed the condensate line to ensure proper drainage. Inspected pressure switch tubing for functionality. Cleaned and polished the flame sensor to optimize performance. Conducted diagnostic testing, confirming the system is operating efficiently. Furnace is operating well. Happy New Year,
