Kitchen Suppression Inspection Amerex - Semi Annual testing and inspection of Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression System
Like annual inspections, per Connecticut State Fire Code, NFPA 10, and OSHA, your fire extinguishers need periodic internal maintenance inspections every 5, 6, or 12 years, depending on the type of fire extinguisher. Fire extinguisher internal maintenance inspections (every 6th year) involve discharging the fire extinguisher and performing a complete internal examination and recharge to ensure all components of the fire extinguisher are in optimal working condition. Periodically, fire extinguisher cylinders will also need to be hydrostatically tested - every 12th year or 5th year, depending on the type of cylinder. This requires the fire extinguisher to be emptied, placed underwater, and subjected to pressures exceeding its ratings. Fire extinguishers that fail this test will be destroyed, while those that pass will be reassembled, recharged, and placed back into service. Please do not hesitate to call with any further questions or needs. Otherwise, please click on the Green 'Accept
Hydrostatic testing is a critical process that ensures the fire extinguishers are in optimal working condition. It involves filling the extinguishers with water and subjecting them to pressures exceeding their ratings. If the extinguishers fail this test, they must be repaired or replaced. Internal maintenance inspections are also essential to ensure the fire extinguishers are in good working condition. This involves discharging the extinguishers and performing a complete internal examination and recharge to ensure all components are in optimal working condition. It's important to note that fire extinguishers must be periodically maintained in accordance with Connecticut State Fire Code, NFPA 10, and OSHA regulations. This includes internal maintenance inspections every 6th year and hydrostatic testing every 12th year or 5th year, depending on the type of cylinder.
I performed a semi-annual inspection and testing of the kitchen hood fire suppression system.
