....Thor's visit...outstanding......but the Hydes owner's view, not so much.

...after 18 years with Hydes, & several thousands of dollars invested in a wonderfully new & innovative HVAC system, along with the utmost satisfaction with their awesome service for those 18 years, this incident provided a sense of disappointment. The system works beautifully....but it was the water heater that provided this concern.....it was offered "free" for purchasing their system, most appreciated, but when that water heater, after only 3 months in use, encountered a concerning problem in functioning well, the owner obviously made the decision to not repair it, and from a business point of view because it was a different brand & out of their professional "plumbing" expertise & perhaps, expensive to fix, they left it up to me. I felt a little deserted, after my 18 years of appreciating their excellent service...and I will continue with their normal service routine, as they are outstanding in that regard....Thor Jonasson & Greg Defontes, my Techs for those 18 years, were simply the best at their jobs. Perhaps, I am just too sensitive. Life goes forward..but, again, I am a little disappointed. I am OVER it. BTW they did NOT charge for their visit to check out my problem; promised referrals, never materialized. They are quite busy, & historically, most concerned with their clients.

Today’s annual maintenance consisted of two Goodman furnaces of flow systems located into separate closet. Areas of the home. One was in the garage and one was upstairs. I first began with replacing the filters on each system to ensure proper air fluid circulating back to the unit at minimum restrictions and then make sure both of the Honeywell thermostats are properly calling for heat and turning the unit on each system successfully checked out all of the heating sequence of operations, ensuring that the home is safely being warm to the desired temperature and that this flame is safely igniting at the correct gas pressure. The amps on each system are successfully checking out in the correct range verifying that there is a controlled voltage being used throughout each system individually. I then cleared the condensation line on each unit, ensuring that they are properly draining and overall both of these Goodman furnaces are operating to the manufacture specs at this time of preventat

Homeowner heard loud banging noise but wasn’t able to go to garage to confirm where source of noise was. She turned off furnace and called Hyde’s to be safe. Upon arrival I checked inducer motor and blower motor are moving freely, not seized or damaged. Cycled in heating multiple times from furnace in garage. From start to finish of sequence did not hear anything out of ordinary. When blower motor kicks in it’s noisier than when it’s running but this is normal sound of a psc motor ramping up from still. Don’t hear anything out of ordinary, all readings were to specs. I recommended trying to record it if she hears it again or note if she hears it and furnace isn’t running or off, or if she can get to garage and see if maybe it’s the water heater located right next to furnace.

Performed diagnostic on non op lights in garage and replace photocell tripping breaker. After replacing photocell, I found that breaker was still tripping. Disconnected switchleg for address light and breaker held. Informed customer that there is a issue with his address light that needs to be addressed, but customer did not know where transformer for address light was, so I informed customer that we would have to come back at a later date to find transformer and figure out what is wrong with it.

Today’s annual maintenance consisted of one carrier of flow furnace located in the closets axis on the patio. I first began with replacing both filters in the home to ensure proper airflow is circulating back to the system at minimum resistance. I also replaced the batteries in the thermostat for the client because the batteries were dying, and the Honeywell thermostat is successfully calling for heat and turning the unit on. I then cleared the condensation line and ensure that it is properly draining to the side of the home, the amps on the motor are checking out incorrect range, providing a controlled voltage throughout the unit. All of the heating sequence of operations are successfully checking out, ensuring that the flame is being ignited safely and accurately to warm the home to the desired temperature. Overall, this carrier furnace is operating to the manufacturer standards at this time of preventative maintenance.

Performed heating maintenance on (2) package units on roof. Changed filters, cleared condensation drains. Everything is heating safely and properly. Homeowner has issue with EZ Rescue motor installed June 2025 that it doesn’t have the 30 second delay. I apologized about any miscommunication about new motor. We always quote for oem motor which usually requires a wait time for part to be delivered and give option to replace right then. System motor was running at proper cfm and amps, system is cooling and heating properly. I did inform that both come with benefits as delay can get those last 30 seconds of cooling what’s left during cooling cycle but overtime extra run time can wear down motor, or with no delay it doesn’t get that last bit of efficiency for cooling but makes up for it with less run time, wear, and does not reevaporate the condensation on the coil during high humidity times. Apologized and informed we can get the OEM motor ordered and replaced for just the difference of $4
