Great Job Eli!

Eil reconfigured our Span Electrical Panel circuits (tied to Solar) to enable us to designate "must have" versus "would like to have" circuits in the case of a power outage. Neat, efficient and a really nice guy, highly recommend Eli and Hydes for Electrical...plus, they also do a fantastic job with our variable speed, super quiet HVAC house system and garage split air.

Found 2023 Mitsubishi ductless for living room with all loads operational and no LED faults at outdoor pcb when I turned system on. Gauged up and found system low on refrigerant (r410a). System holds 1lb 12oz. Checked all refrigerant line connections at indoor and outdoor units as well as both coils. I got some detector hits at indoor unit by pan and closer to board side. No hits at outdoor unit. Opened up lineset cover and found oil around flare fittings. Tested with leak detector and soap reactive. Confirmed leaking around flares. Micro leak, after tightening flares and retesting, added about. 8oz of r410a. System is cooling properly now. 25° split, compressor ramping up. Parts and labor coverage.

Went over system location (condenser on garage roof , 3 other condensers on same roof). She had a question on when replacing the system if she just has to replace the condenser on roof, or the indoor unit (upstairs closet) as well. I informed her that the condenser, the furnace/air handler, and evaporator coil (sits on furnace) would need to be replaced. Advised to not do a partial replacement, ie keeping the furnace, or just replacing condenser. Keeping the old furnace its older blower motor and circuit board would lead to more issues and compatibility issues. Informed Hyde’s does not install equipment not purchased through Hyde’s. We install and sell American Standard equipment with great warranties, amazing equipment for cooling and reliability.

Found 2019 Goodman condenser with a failed/weak dual run capacitor. Replaced 80/5uF capacitor and tested system. Turned Honeywell T6 to cool (indoor temp 89°). All loads operational now. Checked refrigerant charge/ temp split. (23°). Found compressor pulling over its max rated start amps (LRA) on startup. Compressor pulling 151.8 amps and rated for 134 amps. Went over options with homeowner. Recommended Hyde’s Comfort Club maintenance plan for 15% savings off today’s call (and all calls for a year), 2x maintenance tune ups, and double the 1-year warranty to 2. Homeowner went with minimum option for just today’s repair. System is up and cooling properly now. Set thermostat to 88° as homeowner wanted to know best temp for unoccupied home. Put key back under rock on right side of courtyard right inside gate. Got email in file. 1-Year Warranty on capacitor.

Homeowner mentioned that her old intercom system was malfunctioning and going off at random times. She said that they had never really used the intercom system and would prefer to disconnect it. I disconnected and capped all low voltage cables.

Upon arrival found compressor and condenser fan motor running but blower was not. Cycled system and found blower would start up and run for less than a minute then shut completely off. Verified voltages and assured all connections are tight and secure. Cycled system again and blower did not come on the second time. Bad blower motor. Motor is not covered under warranty. Called Howard’s for motor. Will follow up with client once more information is available. Client is going out of town today. Client stated neighbor can provide access this week if client is not in town.
