Arrived to provide an estimate for two non-operational 4-foot garage lights. The homeowner demonstrated that when the switch was turned on, one bulb illuminated briefly before turning off. I diagnosed the issue as malfunctioning ballasts in both fixtures. I presented the homeowner with two options: replacing the fixtures with LED fixtures or installing retrofit kits in the existing fixtures. The homeowner chose the retrofit kit option. Additionally, she requested that only one fixture be replaced, as she believes one fixture provides sufficient lighting for the garage. I advised her that I would cap the wires connecting to the second fixture within the housing of the first fixture. I was able to complete the work during this visit.
