Performed yearly maintenance and safety checks on 2020 Bryant air handler heat pump system. Found concern with buildup of hair on coil presented issue as well as pictures to customer. Customer is interested in coil cleaning. Discussions with customer lead to customer wanting ecobee five installed. presented hh27a-e. Option a for thermostat. Option b for stat and coil cleaning. Customer chose option b. Found thermostat not ‘emergency heat operational. As well as when calling for heat. Only electric heat will operate. Customer stated he’s never known heat pump to run in winter and stated he bought a cover. Explain to customer that cover will restrict airflow putting tremendous amount of stress on compressor however with current stat situation customer might have been lucky with not running compressor while covered.
