Client Complaint: No cooling. System runs for a short period, then shuts down with a flashing blue light. Client has been resetting it at the breaker to temporarily restore operation. Work Performed: Pulled fault codes using the remote and found stored error code E5 – Compressor Motor Lock / Overload. Checked voltage — line voltage is 247V AC, and communication voltage between terminals 2 and 3 is present and stable. Compressor does start and runs for about 20 minutes before shutting down on overload (E5). Went through the service manual flow chart — step one is to check the EEV. Confirmed the EEV wiring is properly seated and ohm-tested the coil — resistance is in spec, no faults there. Per the flow chart, if the EEV checks out, the next step is replacing the inverter PCB. Also found the discharge line thermistor possibly loose — reseated for proper contact and checked all other sensor connections. Conclusion: Compressor is getting power and starting, but shuts down on overload.
