Performed heater tune-up on a Rheem heat pump system. Checked the electrical, mechanical and performance systems of the unit. Cleared, cleaned, flushed and treated the drain line. Cleaned the exterior of the air handler and washed the outdoor coil. I did find the duct work is in poor condition, causing very high static pressure on the system. I also found the ductwork is not sealed and has some air leaks. At the outdoor unit I found the starter is getting pitted at the contacts. The outdoor fan motor is doing 1.2 amps when rated for 1.0 amp. No other issues were found. The system is operational at this time.
