Demand Service Report 4 ton 2004/ horizontal Issue Reported: Upon arrival, the client reported that their air conditioning system is taking significantly longer than usual to cool the home. Inspection and Findings: • Inspected ductwork in the attic — ductwork is outdated but still in tact. • Evaluated system performance and identified the following: • The compressor is drawing extremely high amperage. • Refrigerant levels are slightly low. • The system uses R-22 refrigerant, which has been phased out. I advised the client that adding refrigerant (if available) may further increase compressor amp draw, which could potentially lead to system failure. System Age: The system is approximately 21 years old. Recommendations: • Discussed the benefits of replacing the system due to age, inefficiency, and the discontinued refrigerant. • Also recommended zoning the house to allow for more efficient temperature control in different areas.
