On arrival, I spoke with the homeowner, and he mentioned that the unit seemed to be running longer in order to heat up the home. At times, it would take longer than an hour to raise the temp a couple degrees. I began my diagnostic by turning on the outdoor heat pump. I noted that only the outdoor condenser fan motor turned on and the compressor remained off. I checked the electrical system and found that the outdoor run capacitor has failed below value across the HERM terminal, which was causing the compressor to not pump refrigerant throughout the indoor fan coil. Spoke with the homeowner and we have decided to replace the run capacitor. Installed new capacitor in the outdoor heat pump system and reset the heat pump. Verified that the compressor and fan motor turned on and operated as designed. While on-site, I performed the semiannual maintenance on the heat pump heating system. Inspected all Performance, Mechanical and Safety Systems. Changed one homeowner supplied 20x20x1
