Ethan & Angel did a fantastic job of replacing our air handler. They kept us informed on what they were doing & Ethan explained how often we should do periodic maintenance on the unit.
Installed new evaporator coil for the downstairs system. Installed new primary drain pan. Installed new filter drier in attic. Added safety float switch to secondary drain. Pressure tested system with nitrogen and pulled vacuum. Cleared primary drain with CO2 and primed trap with water. Weighed in factory charge of R-410A refrigerant and charged to 13 subcooling per manufacturer specification. Tested operation of system. Everything is working at completion of service.
Performed diagnostic and found the outdoor capacitor had failed on the herm side. I also found the system does not have a water safety switch on the secondary drain line. I spoke with homeowner and he chose to have the capacitor replaced, install a water safety switch and sign up on our gold maintenance plan with the first visit this fall/winter. I replaced the outdoor capacitor. Then installed a water safety switch on the secondary drain line and cleared and treated the drain line. I also secured the compressor wiring and washed the outdoor coil at no additional cost. Cycled power at the thermostat and verified the system is operational. I informed David it will take a while for the home to cool off but the system is working at this time.
Replaced the outdoor fan motor. Secured the capacitor and the compressor wiring to prevent any electrical shorts. I also washed the outdoor coil. After completing the repair, I cycled power and verified the system is operational.
Installed mini split system in garage. Ran new line set outside and pressure tested it. Used Microleak detector for a leak check. Upon verification, we pulled a vacuum to evacuate the line set and released the refrigerant. Mounted condenser to a bracket on the exterior wall and installed the line set cover. Ran drain underneath bracket and verified system operation and drain operation.
Replaced the upstairs air handler. Reinstalled supply and return plenums and sealed with mastic air lock. Rebuilt primary and secondary drain lines. Installed SS2 and SS3 safety float switches. Cleared and verified drain operation. Pressure tested and pulled a vacuum on the line set. Verified system operation and weighed in charge based on line set length.
Installed new 2.5-ton Carrier gas system. Installed new Honeywell thermostat. Installed new plywood overlay. Installed new filter base. Installed new gas shut off valve. Rebuilt and insulated condensate drain line. Added SS2 safety float switch. Cleared and treated drain and verified operation. Transitioned to supply plenum and sealed with mastic air lock. Installed new filter dryer, pressure tested with dry nitrogen and pulled a vacuum on the copper line set. Replaced disconnect and whip at outdoor system. Verified system is to factory spec. System is working properly at time of departure.
Found system not operational due to safety feature tripped. A breach in the heat exchanger is suspected due to common failures with furnace safeties. I also found a large buildup of rust in the system. Client would like to speak to our Comfort Consultant regarding replacement options.
Performed maintenance on two gas systems. A complimentary clean was performed in both interior cabinets and systems are now operational.
Installed new Mitsubishi mini split. Ran line-set and drain but need to return and finish copper. Will return next week to complete work.
