Went out to help a residential customer who called about their a/c system not working. Upon arriving at the home, found that the blower fan had become misaligned and was causing the problem. Realigned the blower fan on the unit and checked to make sure it was working. The system is operating properly again. The customer was pleased with the repair.

Technician was called out to perform a leak search for a home warranty claim. The leak was found in the condenser coil as previously stated. The system is completely empty of refrigerant and there is a crack on the header tube on the condenser coil. Also found some pitting and major heat stress on the heat exchanger.

Technician arrived for a service call and found the three ton package unit with a large hole in the condenser coil. The majority of the oil and all 100 oz of r22 refrigerant has been sprayed out inside the unit. The condensing fan motor is also mechanically locked up pulling 3.7 amps when the data plate lists 2.0 amps. The condensing fan motor capacitor is also below the manufacturers specifications reading 6.9 out of 7.5 mfd. The control board has burnt areas around some resistors. The draft inducer motor has oil all over the external housing indicating the motor is failing. With all the needed repairs to get the unit back up to working order it would be a better option to replace the entire unit.
