Tech came out promptly same day called. Opened cover on heat pump said fan motor shot, new one would be $2700 and didn’t think it would be money well spent. Suggested we buy whole new system at any price from 14 to 20k. Didn’t even offer to check price on fan motor. Called different HVAC company, they came out same afternoon checked several different wires and tested and agreed motor was bad. He checked supply warehouse could get new motor next for $1,125. It is now in and running well. Lesson learned. Check around.
