We will cut and cap an unused cast iron pipe by removing approximately 3–4 feet of concrete to access the line, then install PVC with glue caps on both ends. A smoke test will be performed to verify the connected roof vent, which will require a separate roofer to properly seal and cap at the roof level.( due to smoke test there will be a smell of smoke in the home) 11/3/25 we cut concrete and 4 inch cast pipe in the basement floor.
