The existing sediment cartridge is worn and no longer effectively filtering debris from the water. We will replace it with the customer-supplied cartridge to restore proper filtration and protect plumbing fixtures and appliances. Upon arrival we discussed with homeowner the replacement of sediment filter at the 3 month marker after installation of new filter housing in November of 2025. With approval we shut water, drained pressure and removed sediment filter from housing. We found the filter to be extremely dirty and full of iron and indicating time for replacement. Cleaned housing and gasket thoroughly applying new lubricant sealant, installed new sediment cartridge and tightened housing firmly. Turned water on to residence and checked for leaks on work performed with no leaks at current time.
-Upon arrival tech removed and disposed of old rusted out pressure tank, water softener, and all plumbing pertaining to softener and pressure tank. -Tech installed new pressure tank with tank tee and pressure switch. Tech then plumbed in new softener and relocated it along back wall of the closet, replumbed sediment filter with new three-way bypass, and moved backwash line through the ceiling of the kitchen and bathroom, into the wall of the laundry room, and into laundry room. Tech then installed new backwash drain with an air gap, air admittance valve, trap, and check valve. -Tech then set system up and tested all fittings. Everything working well with now leaks present at time of service.
