Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival nothing would run. Secondary side of the transformer would not produce 24 volts. Replaced transformer and when condenser kicked on it popped the transformer. The low voltage wiring is brittle and exposed on the roof. The contactor coil has visible arc marks. The compressor wire was melted from the capacitor. Capacitor was out of manufacture tolerance. Client is aware that the machine was on its last leg. Gave options for repairs. A comfort advisor will be out within the hour to give options on machine replacement. Left disconnect out of air handler. Client enrolled in annual maintenance agreement.
