Super efficient Great Service

For the first time since moving to Florida I feel like I was given truthful, manageable solutions for my AC issue! I was able to see and understand exactly why my AC wasn’t blowing cold air, was given multiple different options for repairing and maintaining, as well as offered suggestions for a more efficient system in the future. I’m now confident, because of the annual membership I purchased, that the next year will be nice and cool. And if any problems arise I can count on this company to fix it up without giving me the run around.

Outstanding Service

I needed an emergency installation of AC as my 12 yr old unit was leaking. A friends company recommended Total Air as I was new to town and I will never regret calling them. The sales ppl came quickly and the installation of the new unit was quick as I was going out of town. The follow up service and maintenance is exceptional. The technicians I have dealt with are nothing but superb in their knowledge and job performance. I am 1000% satisfied with Total Air!!

Would not recommend Wade Hepp

Wade was very nice but was at our home for about 4 total hours to fix a floater switch and unclog our drain. He also washed his tools in our bathtub without asking permission or telling us he was doing that and left a dirty mess in our tub and bathroom. Not sure if he was new as he had to make several calls during his visit to our home, but wound not not want him to return for our AC needs.

I returned with Arionna to help with repair of replacing the evaporator core and metering device. System was vacuumed to 400 µm and then recharge with 9 pounds of refrigerant. System is now cooling with a template of 23°, sub cooling of 11° and a super heater 14°.

Called out today due to no cooling. Condenser was tripped on lock rotor amps. I found that the hard start has failed. Replaced hard start and tested system operation. Checked refrigerant pressures. Measured the temperature drop across the coil. Made client aware that the system will coil at about a degree an hour. Need to return tomorrow to install larger hard start. Installed smaller one tonight for temporary cooling. In need for a ks1 for 3.5-5 ton hard start. Equipment is operating properly at this time

Nest thermostat is not recognizing “ G, OB, &Y” wire. I jumped out the thermostat, bad Nest thermostat. Homeowner’s prefer a basic thermostat that is easy to use. I also recommend a surge protector. I verified the refrigerant pressure & capacitor. A humming contactor was detected & I recommend replacing the humming contactor before failure. Thank you for choosing Total Air…. Basic thermostat

04/23/24 -Homeowner stated the thermostat goes on and off intermittently. They replaced it with a Honeywell T6 thermostat, and the problems still happened. I verified refrigerant pressures, verified that the filter was clean, and no microbial growth was across the coils, and verified the capacitor was within specs, the drain line was backed up with water in the float, which that kept tripping, making the thermostat blank. I recommended hey chemical drain line treatment be performed with pan tablets, & a drain guard installed to help treat the drain line between maintenances. Also, I recommend an electrostatic filter & a UV Kit be installed to curb the microbial growth development that can lead to clogged drain lines & costly cleanings. Thank you for choosing Total Air… 04/23/24- PART RETURN NEEDED no $$$$ is due upon completion of the part return for a chemical drain line treatment w/pan tablets. (No drain guard) Danielle LaTourm has renewed her Air Care Membership (monthly), & would

Upon arrival, last code on thermostat was thermostat reboot. Outside units last code was 851 which means communication lost. I cycled the power to get the system back on and place the system and charging mode to ensure that system was operational at its optimal performance. I then had to reprogram the thermostat and system as the unit was running and heating when calling for cooling. System is now operating properly.

Membership maintenance. 12 yr old ream split system. C/U- breaker style disconnect is very old and rusted. High voltage whip connector is loose possibly broken. Turbo 200 capacitor microfarad reading is good. Contactor is pitted loud buzzing noise. Took an on the compressor and fan motor. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. The system is cooling, but could be running more efficiently. Condenser coil and all metal parts are rusting/corroded. Filter dryer is rusted. Condenser is on roof. A/H- interior is clean and free of biological growth. Blower fan wheel has dust buildup. Condensate drain line is clear. The homeowner has a schedule to flush this line with vinegar and water. While performing maintenance today, I noticed the pure air ballast did not have a Lit blue indicator light. Restored power to the system with the door off to verify power in the UV bulb. The UV light did not come on. Tested for power and checked all wiring connections from source to UV light. No issues

Customer concerned about unit not cooling properly. Checked thermostat calibration and filter location. Customer has provided filter replacement. Checked blower motor operation and inspected equipment cabinet. The safety float switch is tripped with water and drain line needs to be cleaned properly. Located the safety float switch on emergency drain pan is bad and needs to be replaced to have proper safety if water over flow into the drain pan. The attic has none to very little attic insulation and strongly recommend to have attic insulation to keep unit cooling properly and lower electrical bills due to loss of cooling / high heat into the attic space. Recommend total air care membership renewal to have annual preventative maintenance inspections on ac system. Location has mini split unit in master bedroom. Customer has approved for membership renewal (2 units) and drain line cleaning and new safety float switch. Performed drain line cleaning and installed new safety float

Notes: customer keeps thermostat at 77° and changes the filter roughly every 3 months. Occasionally notices a smell when the unit runs. Customer has a $39 coupon for today’s tuneup. Membership is also due for renewal. Summary: the blower wheel has debris build up. I suggest a pull and clean on the blower assembly to improve efficiency. This may also help with the smells. A long term option is to have an oxidizer to control the odor. I also recommend surge protection to help prevent a major surge of power from damaging the equipment.

Jerry has concerns of the system being undercharged charged & he has had the system re charged before. 2011 Trane CU previous indicated the the system is overcharged. Recommended recovering the extra refrigerant. Also, recommended our Air Care Maintenance Plan for 20% off quoted repairs, 2x system heck’s annually, & priory calling for service calls. Slight microbial growth development across the lower evaporator coils found. Jerry has a clean filter. Jerry replaced himself the capacitor last year & it read 43/5mf. I recommend a hard start kit be installed to lower the compressor starting amp draw. Pitted, worn contactor detected & recommend replacing it.
