Called out today to replace the filter drier on the roof. Removed and brazed in new filter drier. Performed a pressure test @450 for 30 minutes. Pulled a vacuumed down to 500 microns. Charged system to proper specifications. Tested equipment. System is cooling properly at this time. Client leaves March 10th for Canada and would like to have his first preventative maintenance performed before then. I will have the office reach out to the client to schedule. Thank you for always choosing Total Air!

Performed maintenance on Bryant heat pump, found system in dehumidification mode was set to low at 40 degrees system will cause more issues then good at those settings because it will never come out of dehumidification mode, set dehumidification to 60% and system running at full potential created a crisper air and atmosphere right away, found transformer for the ultraviolet light is burned out on the high voltage side, found dual capacitor leaking it’s packing grease wax causing overheating, quoted to install new transformer, capacitor and a compressor hard start kit is recommended with the capacitor replacement to help capacitor and help compressor start up, work was approved, replaced capacitor and installed compressor hard start in conjunction, replaced transformer for the ultraviolet light and that’s working now as well, recommend replacing the air filter at your earliest convenience, system is operational at my departure, thank you for using total air as your hvac company.

Removed old rusted out filter dryer that caused the refrigerant to leak out causing outdoor unit to short cycle on and off, dry fitted new biflow filter dryer for a heat pump and ran nitrogen through the system while brazing the new filter dryer in place, pressure tested system with nitrogen at 300psi and let seat for a while to help dry out any moisture, vacuumed system to desired dehydration levels and recharged system with 8 pounds of refrigerant to manufactures specifications tested both sides of the system in cooling and heating modes, condenser motor starts hard but than it gets quiet, could be a potential issue down the road but will address later on when it becomes an issue as I was informed, everything is working properly at my departure, thank you for letting me work on your system and thank you for using total air as your hvac company.

Customer concerned about unit not turning off the blower motor. Checked the thermostat calibration and thermostat settings. I have checked the low voltage wiring and checked the surge protector the unit. The blower motor is confirmed to be running all the time. The blower motor with module is bad and needs to be replaced with oem motor. Checked the condition of the air handler unit and inspected evaporator coil condition. The evaporator coil is completely rusty and soon to fail and leak refrigerant. The unit has no warranty, installed November 2012 Air handler unit has bad rusty evaporator coil in the unit. The much rust on the evaporator coil is highly recommended to have unit replacement due to aged equipment and failure on components. Strongly recommend new unit replacement x2 upstairs and down stairs. Both units are same model and size outside condenser unit. Customer has been asked about new thermostat that is WiFi compatible. I have placed and estimate for new WiFi thermostat

Below is an estimate for a warranty, evaporator core replacement without refrigerant. It also includes refrigerant. I added 19 pounds of refrigerant back into the system. System is on and cooling properly at this time with a 20° temperature differential. In the process I removed the faulty evaporator coil. The system was completely void of refrigerant. I installed the new evaporator coil and placed the system on a vacuum down to under 500 µm. I charged the refrigerant back into the system and let it run and then tested pressures and temperatures.

Below is an estimate for today’s service call and the renewal. System was not cooling. Found condensing unit completely void of refrigerant. Turn the breaker off at condensing units a unit does not try to continue to come on. Opened up air handler and inspected evaporator coil in primary pan and found evidence of oil in the primary pan on the left side. Quoted repair with customer. We are on schedule to return tomorrow to replace the evaporator coil under warranty. The only additional charge will be for refrigerant..

Upon arrival to the scheduled system maintenance, I was shown to the a/h unit in the closet. Immediately pulled off panel doors to inspect all electrical components connections, collect amp draw/voltage readings off electrical equipment, and check the evaporator coil for cleanliness. The a/h unit is not equipped with a UV light system and the evaporator coil is clean, as well as the cabinet and electrical components. All connections are secure and amp draw/voltage readings are within range of factory specifications. The d/t had a temperature difference of 18° and within normal range. I then went outside to the side of the home to verify the system refrigerant charge, the system was 2 pounds low on 410A. inspect all electrical components connections, collect amp draw/voltage readings, and clear the condensate drain line. All electrical components connections are secure and running within range of factory specifications. The outdoor unit is not equipped with a surge protector. I reco

Indoor fan was running and outdoor fan was running but compressor was not running. The capacitor was measuring below. The rating measurement. At the customers request I changed out the capacitor. I recommend it a maintenance plan to the customer as well as I recommend it a programmable thermostat. Customer said he would consider the membership and at this time, he did not wish to have a programmable thermostat

Arrived at customers house for system not working. On arrival. Customer showed me to air handler unit. Fan was running. Went outside to condenser. Fan was running But compressor was not. Tested capacitor and capacitor was bad. Suggested customer change and customer agreed. Change capacitor in unit started up fine. Noticed customer did not have a surge protector. Explain to customer why surge protectors are important for a unit to live its full life expectancy. Checked over unit and unit is producing proper delta. T. Showed work to customer and customer is very happy. Suggested customer sign up with service plan and customer agreed. Collected payment and signature and left. Thank you for choosing total air!

Upon arrival to no cool call, the homeowner had concerns about his system not cooling to the desired temperature. Went outside to the C/U to verify refrigerant. I found the system to be low on R410a refrigerant. Added 2lb R410a refrigerant and cycled the system. System is now running well with proper pressures. Spoke to the homeowner about the system leaking from somewhere. Due to oil in the drain pan I was expecting the leak to be in the evaporator coil. Upon leak search I was unable to find the leak at this time. Will need to return later this afternoon with UV dye to add to the system to help find the refrigerant leak. Should be coming back anytime after 2pm. I left the system operating in the cooling mode, collected payement/signatures for work completed and left. Job complete. Thank you for choosing Total Air!

Called out today due to water leaking from the mini split head. Client said he has yet to have maintenance performed. Gave options for preventative maintenance plans and a once time flush of the system. Flushed mini split drain line and vacuumed clear from outside port. Cleaned filters. Checked all other electronics and motor components. Gave options for blower wheel cleanings and explained the difference between our two UV sterilization lights. We will return to perform maintenance on both units. Equipment is operating properly at this time. Thank you for always choosing Total Air!

Complete no cool call. After inspection I found multiple issues with the package unit. The refrigeration pressures were low. I added (3) lbs of 410a to get the system cooling. Once I finished charging the system the outdoor fan motor died. We will need to contact the homeowner with pricing and availability for the motor. The evaporator coil is also very dirty restricting airflow to the system. We will need to perform a clean in place on the coil to restore proper airflow. Once the coil is cleaned and the motor is replaced the system will be back in normal working order. I talked to the customer about replacing the system. He denied. All equipment info is entered there is also a picture of the data tag. Follow up Monday! Customer is now a prime maintenance member.

System 2 completely out of refrigerant. Will need to return to perform leak search

12/29/22
Unit #2
Returned to customers home to perform leak search. Filled system up with nitrogen. I did not here any at the condenser. Went to the coil and heard it hissing. Found the leak in the center. The evap coil need to be replaced. Customer has labor warranty. The customer will be responsible for extra Freon if it takes more then what the condenser hold. 12/30/2022 Wadeh Replace air handler evaporator coil on air handler unit #2. Removed and replaced coil and transfer txv. Clean evaporator drain pan and soldering in place. Checked for leaks on copper line and pump down vacuumed system. Added 13 lb r 410a refrigerant and checked unit operation. Unit is cooling well and drains at this time.

Upon arrival customer showed me and area that was growing microbial growth on the ceiling in the air handler room. I went up in the attic to where it was and I found the duct work not sealed and a couple holes. The duct work needs to be replaced I also recommend installing a pure air x and a EAC 20x30x1 filter Talked to customer about signing up for our membership program and all the benefits they get with it. Customer declined at t(is time. He want to wait to see the cost of the duct work.
