My AC failed this morning. I called Total Air for service and Wade Hepp arrived around 3:30 this afternoon and quickly traced down some complicated electrical problems both in the Air Handler and on the compressor. Wade had the parts needed on his truck and got everything back running. Wade was extremely courteous and considerate. He even put covers over his shoes when he entered my home. Thank you Wade for the fast and courteous service!
A bit pricey, but other than that, very satisfied
Was very informative
As usual Jason displayed great customer service! Arrived on time and had a mask. No complaints here. I don't want to say too much as I know it will go to his head. Also, I didn't get his name but his assistant was exceptional as well.
Amazing response. Great technician. And Tabitha who took the appointment was amazing! I watch 40 condos here on Sand Key. I run into these problems all the time. U will always be my first call from Now on. Thank you! Bernard DiRuzza
Excellent service from Total Air once again! On time...honest ...knowledgable techs that are always polite and professional.
Arrived at customer's house for no cool. On arrival customer told me he had drain issues earlier. He had clear drain line. Float switch was stuck on closed. Bypass float switch and unit turned on. Brought this to customer's attention and customer knowing they have secondary float switch opted to not replace float switch. Went out to condenser and hooked up gages. Pressures were not changing. Checks capacitor and capacitor was well below acceptable range. Told this to customer and suggested we get capacitor changed. Customer agreed. Changed out capacitor and unit now running fine. Talk to customer about taps plan and customer decided to sign up. Collected payment and signature for work performed and left. Customers happy.
Complete tune up. Inspect electrical components. Test amps and volts. Delta t measures at 13 degrees. Clear out drain line with vacuum. A picture of the evaporator coil was uploaded into ST. There is very minimal growth in the air handler. At condenser checked pressures, temps, amps and volts. I added (2) lbs. of 410a refrigerant. There is a leak in the unit. We did not move forward with a leak search. The unit is now charged to manufacturers specifications. Unit is in normal operating condition at this time.
Upon arrival customer showed me an ac unit in the closet that needed tuned up. The evap coil is clean. Cleaned the condensate pump with water, shop vac and also blew vinyl hose with nitrogen and got a lot of junk out. Checked the system for proper amps and volts. Went to the condenser and sprayed of the condenser coil with water. Checked the system for proper amps and volts. System is older and recommend to customer for a quote and customer Denied at this time.
2 mini Split UV lights. Could not install 2 mini split lights customer initially wanted due to clearance over and under of Ductless split units. Talked with customer and decided to get one light installed in her bedroom. linstalled light. unit now working correctly. customer would also like to know if there are any switches we can get for the lights. Would like 1 in each bedroom. Collected payment and signature for work performed today and left. Customer happy.

Customer concerned about unit not cooling properly. Located bad transformer and bad contactor. Replaced bad components. Unit start up and unit is cooling properly. Customer is satisfied
No cool. Found leak in evaporator coil. Home owner would like quotes on repair and replace. Office to set appointment with Corey afyer 4pm as soon as he is available. System is likely out of warranty but please double check. System has stop leak in it from a previous company Repair quote will need to include new refrigerant after system fully vaccuumed out.
Upon arrival customer showed me an air handler in the attic that needed turned up. The evap coil is clean. Cleared the condensate with nitrogen and solvent. Found a lot of microbial growth build up in the system. Recommend a pure air X and customer Denied. Checked the system for proper amps and voltage. Found the 10 run capacitor bad and replaced with a mini turbo. Went to the condenser the check proper amps and voltage. Found the contactor pitting replaced the contactor. Found the 40/5 Capacitor under factory specs and replaced with a turbo 200. Also a run capacitor below factory spec out at the condenser and replaced with a mini turbo.
Customer concerned about unit not cooling bedroom well. Checked thermostat location and filter location. Has 7†supply duct and cell wall return. Unit has 4†block filter in attic. Checked ductwork connections and inspected ceiling height in bedroom. Estimate for new 8†duct supply. 50’ long with new box and grille. Estimate for new tribox (8,8,8,5) with new flex and supply boxes. 14†supply duct. Estimate for new 9000k mini split system for bed room wall. Will need mini split drain pump.
Upon arrival customer showed me a mini split head that was leaking water. I found the drain clogged. And it was leaking from the line hide. Pulled it apart and shop vac both heads. The condensate is running good.
Upon arrival customer told me the ac system is not working properly. I turned the ac on and it tripped off on low pressure cut off. Then I switched it to heat. And pressures went up on high side and slowly going down on low side. Tried to in free the reversing valve and could not. Customer want a price on new equipment.
Media Pad replacement.
Arrived at customers house for system inspection. On arrival customer showed me to air handler unit. Check inside of cabinet and inside of cabinet was clean. Under evaporator coil was clean. Unit had a UV bulb that was past the two-year mark. Suggesting it be changed. Next went out to condenser unit. Hooked up gauges and all pressures and readings were all the acceptable range. Open electrical cabinet and contactor was sending proper voltage. Capacitor was within range. Unit was being high on Startup. Suggesting unit get hard start kit. Customer agreed to both. Change out UV light for new. Unit now sending proper light intensity. Installed hard start kit. Unit now starting up much easier. Check in with customer and customer was pleased with work performed. Collected payment and signature and left. Customer happy.
Maintenance 2 Completed maintenance on a heat pump split system. Checked all electrical components for proper volts and amp draw. All components are within factory spec. Dual capacitor tested ok. All connections are tight with no evidence of over heating. Compressor and both fan motors are below RLA. System pressures are at the correct levels. Vaccuumed drain line. I found UV bulb not burned out. Bulb was past 1 year life span. A small amount of bio growth was growing on the blower motor wires. I replaced the bulb and cleaned the wires. It appears the growth was isolated to the wires, however cleaning and sanitizing the blower housing and fan blade is recommended to insure growth doesn't spread to the duct work. I am also leaving an estimate for an upgrade to the uvc light system with a life time warranty. This also includes cleaning the airhandler cabinet for no extra charge. The existing uv system is 5 years old and may need to be replaced if it fails. Left system in perfe
