A difficult job well done.

We have an 80 year old home that had 50 year old duct work in the attic. The replacement took 4 days to remove and install a complicated system in high temperatures. Josh and his team stayed on it and did not leave until everything was right. The pricing/cost was higher that n competitors but worth it. I recommend Total Air.

Compared thermostat readings with my psychrometer readings. Thermostat was reading 89% humidity while my psychrometer bounced between 55 and 59% relative humidity. Temperature was maintaining 70°. Confirmed refrigerant pressures and temperature split. Recommended thermostat replacement if correct humidity readings were desired. Inside the home felt good, dry and cool. Everything operating properly at this time.

As I arrived, homeowner greeted me at the front door I talked to him about what was going on. He showed me to the root of his problems as I fully looked over the whole complete system. I found that the drain line safety switches filled. The capacitor is well under spec and very hot After approval, I have changed it out The refrigerant levels to the system or not OEM specifications after adding an R410 after approval I now have a perfect 20° delta tea System up and running a lot better and more efficiently than before I have signed the homeowner up so he can enjoy our membership first maintenance needs to be performed in six months Homeowner is a veteran and he pulled up a 5% off veterans discount on the Total Air website. I have applied a 5% discount to his Total. Thank you for choosing Total Air for all your HVAC needs Dan e

Customer said it doesn’t go under 77 degree. Complete a full check up of the unit and found out that unit is low on Freon and it is leaking from evaporator coil. Unit is almost 9 years old and customer is not the original owner which means that unit is not under parts warranty. I recommend customer to get newer and more driven unit.

Customer is complaining one of the rooms is freezing . Found out that on of the system has a zoning system . And there are 2 thermostats one for the bedroom and one for the second floor and when thermostat is off for the one in the bedroom the thermostat in second floor keeps the unit running. Suggested guest to turn off the schedule option and to keep both thermostats at the same temperature

Was only able to complete the air handler portion of the maintenance as it is raining and thundering. Checked temperature differential insured UV light was working. Checked amp draws on blower. Tested float switch. Checked condition of coil and blower assembly. Recommend a pull and clean on the blower motor and the adding of an electronic air cleaner to prevent future buildup. We need to return to complete outside portion of the maintenance. 7-2-25 NM Arrived onsite and performed semi annual maintenance. Inspected outdoor unit and rinsed down outdoor coil and gave unit a bubble bath. Removed all leaves and debris from the outdoor unit. Noted the gutters should be extended to protect the unit or future unit from rust and corrosion. Did find a weak capacitor outside. I installed a new one at this time. Checked customers warranty and found it expired 3 days ago. Outdoor unit is sounding pretty rough with the compressor but it’s working I did bring this up to the homeowners attention

Upon arrival found outdoor unit not running and shut off high-pressure. Was able to get the fan to come on for enough time to complete a full maintenance on the system, but fan would no longer run after that outdoor fan needs to be replaced as well as the outdoor board, which is discolored.

Arrived on site to find condenser not running. Fan wire was disconnected from capacitor. Reconnected wire to find capacitor was reading low and compressor and fan had overheated. Replaced capacitor and cooled off fan and compressor. System came on and is running an operating at this time.

Checked all major come on the ac unit: compressor fan motors , capacitor, Freon levels, temp differentials, flushed drain line, checked filters. Based on readings Capacitor was lower than it is rated which means that is going bad and need to be replaced . Also compressor has started to work hard and need to add a hard start kit on to make it work smoother. Blower wheel is dirty and need to be cleaned. Customer want to schedule the capacitor for another day.
