Unit A Upon arrival to the scheduled system maintenance, I was shown to the a/h unit in the closet in living room. Immediately pulled off panel doors to inspect all electrical components connections, collect amp draw/voltage readings off electrical equipment, and check the evaporator coil for cleanliness. Could not access blower or in air handler because it is built behind the wall. Customer will have it rebuilt to acces. I then went outside to the side of the home to verify the system refrigerant charge, inspect all electrical components connections, collect amp draw/voltage readings, and clear the condensate drain line. All electrical components connections are running but capacitor below specs and customer denied work and also Contactor is pitting. Recommend replacement and customer denied. The outdoor unit is not equipped with a surge protector. I recommend installing a surge protector in order to protect the unit in the case of a major surge of power. The homeowner will not be
