Arrived at customers house for system. No cool. On arrival. Customer showed me to air handler unit. Fan was running. Condenser was running. Customer said when they put the float switch in the reservoir. The unit would stop running. Placed float switch in reservoir very carefully and unit continue to run. Fairly certain customers were rubbing The side of the float switch on the reservoir which was activating it. Inspected customers. Air handler unit. Sand, wiring, and evaporator coil are extremely dirty. Suggesting a pole and clean on both. Also suggesting a UV light as well as an electronic air cleaner to help keep the system clean. Went outside to condenser and found both capacitors below nameplate rating. Started of unit and unit is starting with high amps. Customers in for me this unit has not been performing as it used to. Runs much longer than it normally has. Suggesting customers look over suggestions but ultimately, it may be time to talk to a comfort adviser about a new unit.
