Returned to replaced burned defrost board. Located short in y wire that caused board failure. I was able to jump y over to another wire to correct short. While cycling the system, I found the system running cooling when no cooling call was made and should be running heat mode at the condenser. I tried the other available wires in the bundle with no success. We will need to return to pull a new low voltage wire from airhandler to the condenser (carrier system). Wire will need to go straight up the wall and through the soffit. Job will take 2 techs and 2 to 3 hours to complete. Office to make sure techs have a way to secure the wire to the wall with clips. System bypassed in cooling mode for now. Heat will not function until wire pulled. Home owner prepaid wire pull today.

Need to reschedule with smaller technician to fit through closet scuttle.

Wadeh
12/29/2022

Customer concerned about unit not heating properly. Checked thermostat calibration and filter location. Checked blower motor operation and inspected equipment cabinet. Found Easy acces with pull down latter. Located 5 amp fuse burnt out and failed. Replace fuse and checked unit operation.

Fuse is still tripping, has low voltage short in low voltage wiring. Checked all wiring connections and located outside thermostat wiring is touching the ground and the wire is bad. Choose extra wiring and hook up low voltage wire orange. Test unit operation and unit is cooling well and running heating properly.
Highly recommend new germicidal uvc light to prevent biological growth in air handler coil.
Recommend new safety surge protector on outside condenser unit to prevent voltage spikes and electrical failure on control board.

Suggest new Taps

Arrived at customer's house for system inspection. On arrival customer showed me to 2 air handler systems. Checked system number 1. UV light was past change date. Brought this to customer's attention and suggest we change it. Customer agreed. Change out light and unit now working fine. Check under evaporator coil and evaporator coil was clean.. Unit was producing proper Delta T. Went to next air handler unit and UV light was also past date. Do not have replacement for this bulb on the truck but got unit information. Customer would like to change out Whenever we can get the bulb. Checked under evaporator coil and under evaporator coil was clean. Suggested to customer both of these lights be upgraded to a pure air UV light. Gave customer literature and created estimate. Next went outside to condenser's. Opened electric cabinets And tested all components. Capacitors within acceptable range. Contactors sending propper voltage. Vacuumed out both drain lines. Neither unit is currently equipp

Suggested customer get IAQ you're get IAQ. Customer would like to do research before making decision. You know it was putting out proper Delta T. Under evaporator coil was clean. Next in period next went outside to condenser and hooked up gages. All pressures and readings were of acceptable range. Contact or sending proper voltage. Capacitor within acceptable range. Vacuumed out condensate line. Unit checks out. Gave report to customer and customer was happy with report. Collected payment and signature and left. Customer happy.

Recommended a pure air X and surge protector Unit #2 for 1st floor Upon arrival customer showed me an air handler in the 2nd floor closet that needed turned up. The evap coil is clean. Cleared the condensate with nitrogen and solvent. Checked the system for proper amps and voltage. Went to the condenser the check proper amps and voltage. Capacitor under factory specs. Upon arrival checked motors, electrical components, and pressures on 2 rheem split closet systems. AH 1 AND 2 both upstairs. Upstairs IV bulb still on but needs replaced. Replaced UV bulb on larger rheem unit AH (both AH next to each other). Cleared draon line and DeltaT excellent. Recommend Surge protectors for both units. Added existing equipment and left systems in good operating condition.

I performed a maintenance. I checked pressures, electrical components and flushed drain line with cleaner. The warranty capacitor was below factory specs, replaced. I noticed the compressor is slightly noisy on start up. Need to keep an eye on this issue. I left the system in good working order..
