I arrived to bid a system replacement for a 2.5 ton system. I spoke with the homeowner and found that she is wanting the highest seer rating that she can possibly get in this house. I inspected the system and found that the set up cannot accept a 21” or a 24” wide furnace. This limits our capability to gain a seer rating higher than 21.5 seer that is approved with a AHRI matchup. To gain the seer rating I matched a 80,000 btu carrier 96.7% modulating furnace with a 3.5 ton evaporator coil and a 3 ton variable optimum carrier condenser. The system will come with a 10 year parts warranty and a 2 year labor warranty. The system will come with a one year free club membership maintenance plan to start keeping the system maintained properly. We will cut in two other returns in both bedrooms beside the mechanical closet to allow the system to move the proper amount of air the system will be designed for.
