My experience with Comfort Central has been 100% positive over the 2 years we have lived in Brevard. Our technician is usually Cameron. He come twice a year. He is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and is happy to explain everything to me. He is ypically on time and keeps in touch about arrival time. We could not be happier.

Jay came off as patronizing and condescending in his attitude and explanations of proposed work. Not the courtesy I've experienced with other Comfort Central employees. An overall negative impression. Regarding the quality of service, time will tell.

As always, Cameron did an excellent job, was a pleasure to have around, and provided interesting information about our heating system, as well as how to keep it performing well. We have been very pleased to have the Comfort Club that checks our heating and air-conditioning system twice a year. We definately recommend Comfort Central. Cameron performed the summer check on the unit and scheduled for the winter check in a few months. Cameron was very professional and congenial and throughly inspected the unit including dehumidifier and condensate pump. Report indicates system working well.

Performed heating tune up service on dual fuel system checking all electrical components, heat pump refrigerant balance, unit start up, operation, defrost, shutdown. Cleaning of all furnace components, replaced customer provided filter. Performed full combustion analysis on furnace system. Everything looks and runs great!

We will replace the brazed plate heat exchanger and all pumps with stainless steel. We will also raise the pipes 1 foot above the pump head for better operation. We will add a strainer and flush the system to get out rust flakes. The reason for stainless pumps instead of cast iron is the radiant loop does not seem to be oxygen barrier tube. The rust flakes would return with cast iron pumps.

Customer complaint that system had trouble keeping up on coldest day of year so far - checked electric heat and system defrost as well as thermostat comfort settings for auxiliary heat strips. Everything looks and runs great!
We will replace pumps in the aster bed and the front bedroom. The new pumps will be Taco 007E pumps. They have the ability to remove rust flakes from the impeller. If unsuccessful after 15 minutes, it will shut itself down rather than burn out. We will raise the height of the pipes to 12" above the outlet of the pumps for less resistance on the pump. All 4 pumps will have auto vents to keep them from becoming air bound at the highest point. we will also back flush the flat plate heat exchanger. We will flush the system with a high pressure pump to try to get the rust flakes out of the radiant loops. (the cause of the pump failure.)
Found system fully operational - checked heat / emergency heat - checked contactor and all low voltage wiring - recommended try system as is for now.

Found defrost board not defrosting on test - replaced defrost board and cycled defrost to melt the rest of the outdoor unit and checked defrost thermistor. Found defrost thermistor will also have to be replaced - defrost thermistor was already on order but was not in at time of call - will call as defrost thermistor comes in to schedule return trip - returned 12/12/25 with defrost thermistor - replaced thermistor and cycled system to check operation. Everything runs normally again!

Checking of all safeties, system start up, operation, shutdown. Everything looks and runs great!
Returned 12/8 to replace warranty furnace board. After replacing board cycled system to check operation. Everything runs normally again.
Found system off upon arrival - turned system on to cycle - system started up in defrost cycle. Believe problem encountered was defrost operation - allowed defrost mode to finish and checked cycle of heat pump and electric heat. Everything runs normally at this time. Explained the defrost circuit and normal operation of heat pump. System will check after about 90 minutes of run time if there is ice on outdoor coil and will shift into defrost. Part of the defrost operation is to stop the top fan on the outdoor unit, shift the unit into cooling to raise the temperatures and pressures of the refrigerant to help shed off the ice. The normal byproduct of defrost will be water dripping from the outside unit and sometimes steam coming from the top of the unit.
System was operational upon arrival - checked system operation, tested safeties, checked and cleaned system drain, checked flame sensor, cycled system several times to make sure it lights off and cycles normally. Believe system failure could have been caused by a slow drain between the trap and the condensate pump which turned system off temporarily to allow drain to catch up. Flushed drain after cleaning to test.
