Furnish materials and labor for replacement of OEM Defrost Board, covered under manufacturer parts warranty. Includes warranty processing. Had to call Tech Support because the core sense diagnostic device was saying that it was locked out unlocked rotor amps. I pushed the contactor in the compressor is only pulling 6 A. The core sense wouldn’t reset Tech Support recommends. We replace the core sense diagnostic device.

Found fuse to be open. Put little Popper breaker where the fuse goes. Tested all operation to see if I could get the fuse to pop again. found the outdoor unit not coming on. Said had an 05 fault which was the board. Reset everything try to make it start. I had 24 V coming into the board check high pressure low pressure. Both safeties were closed. Then I started getting a low pressure fault. So I put jumpers across it. Still got default. Try to reset the fault it was stuck. Defrost board needs to be replaced.
Communicating system. Was told that thermostat said wait and the system wouldn’t come out of wait. To turn on the AC. When I arrived, I turned system on everything came on drain trap was kind of dirty so it’s there’s a possibility that the float which triggered the issue. We started and stopped the unit several times and ran it for a while with no other issues. If this happens again now that the drain is clear, we may have to call Tech Support and have them help us figure out what’s going on. Temperature difference was 20° Also noticed that the return air duct was vibrating, causing a humming noise. Went ahead and checked static pressure on the system and for 4 ton unit I believe the ducks are too small to carry the air as the filter is clean. The system has .9 static pressure. This can cause blower motor issues and compressor issues. But this has nothing to do with what’s going on today.
I’m servicing a mini split head unit that isn’t cooling properly. Found the blower wheel coated with dust, restricting airflow. Removing the housing, cleaning the wheel with coil-safe solution, and checking the thermistor for accurate feedback.
Installing a whole-home dehumidifier in a damp basement. The model integrates with existing ductwork and includes a dedicated return for humidity control. It features a built-in hygrometer, low-temp operation, and an external condensate pump for reliable drainage. Wiring it to an independent circuit and programming it for 50% RH setpoint.
Replacing an AC contactor today. Unit failed to start and the contactor showed pitting and carbon buildup. Swapping in a new 2-pole contactor and confirming proper voltage and amperage draw across L1/L2 terminals.
Investigating an AC system with a strange smell. The odor is coming from microbial buildup in the evaporator coil and drain pan. Using a non-corrosive disinfectant and installing a Pure AirX time-release treatment to suppress future biological growth. Discussing UV light options with the customer for long-term IAQ control.
