Jay and Benjamin did a great job yesterday installing the new dehumidifier. Their service went above and beyond when they identified ductwork that was disconnected and leaking. They showed us the problems (along with other non-hvac concerns), gave us a price estimate, and made the needed repairs. Another great job by Comfort Central.

Cameron was able to get to us quickly on the day we called. Diagnosis was quick and accurate. The repair was efficiently done after the part arrived a few days later. After the quote initially, I wanted to check around to see what others charged for the same repair, but came back to Comfort Central to have them do the work. Cameron was very pleasant to work with. Jay was a godsend!. I thought that my water heater/heating system was a goner. Jay checked out all of my HVAC systems, determined that my pilot light had just gone out, taught me how to relight it if needed, and gave me a safe, two ingredient recipe to rid whatever critters had been leaving their sizeable droppings in the equipment closet. I had an issue with my new heat pump that was not due to the install that they did, but to debris in the drain line. Kevin came out the same day we called, found the problem, explained what it was and got our system working again. He told us what to watch for and if needed will come back to replace the drain line. He did not charge me for a service call and was helpful and professional. Comfort Central has exhibited great customer service from the first service call with Cameron when my old system failed, Kevin doing the estimate, Laurie in the office helping me with financing options to Jay and his crew doing the install and Kevin taking care of the recent problem. Great people and a great company. They have my business as long as I still live here!

Found H5 error code - 5 time p2 lockout - on outdoor unit causing unit to lock out - reset lockout and cycled to check operation - found refrigerant balance within a normal range. Didn't find any other issues with system. May have triggered fault during a power outage. Recommended watching the unit for awhile to make sure system is operating within expectations.
Furnish materials and labor for replacement of pump cartridge kit - replaced pump cartridge and purged air from system lines - cycled system to check operation - turned off gas heater per customer request - set thermostat to 70. Everything looks and runs great!
Condenser fan motor was replaced by homeowner. Checked wiring with schematic. Everything was wired correctly. Sometimes the fan doesn’t come on sometimes the fan stays on recommend replace contactor and defrost board. Wants Kevin to revisit and give them an updated estimate on replacing his systems
Found grundfos type UP 15-42 B5 115V 1 ph 60 hz pump for Apollo loop impeller has failed. Recommend replacement of pump cartridge. Turned off system, let homeowner know we will follow up with more information about the pump cartridge.
Found condensate pump running, not pumping water upon arrival. Replaced condensate pump and cycled condensate pump to check operation. Everything runs normally again! Turned off lights and locked up as requested.
Found thermostat operational but furnace inducer motor has failed. Adjusted balance point for heat pump compressor lockout to give some heat in interim while inducer motor is ordered. 2/6 returned and replaced inducer motor - reset thermostat settings - cycled system to check operation in both furnace and heat pump modes. Everything runs normally again!

Replaced true suction connection due to the leak. Charge system and tested refrigerant level. Will recheck it in the spring time when we come back for maintenance.
Problem with the water heater, not lighting, causing the water furnace not to heat need a plumber
Ultimate Heating Tune-Up Heat Pump: serviced and inspected heat pump system, including electrical, safeties, controls, reversing valve and defrost cycle to manufacturer specifications.
Found system hot surface ignitor has failed causing system to lock out due to excessive retries to light the furnace. Recommend replacement of hot surface ignitor. Could not replace with universal replacement as none of the carried brands support this particular ignitor. Will order OEM replacement. Will call with as part comes in. Replace igniter started and tested no issues
Found at 30° outside suction line was 68°. I think it should be well over 110° at 30° outside. Check pressure transducer to pressure on gauges pretty close within four psi transducer are good. I suspect a leak somewhere. I tried to force the Bosch into high and the Hertz stay at about 46. Must do a leak search on system to verify leak location. Searched evaporator coil for leak found nothing leak search heat pump. Found leak on true suction bracket. This is nothing that we can fix in the field that is welded onto the bracket that mounts to the shell of the heat pump. Added refrigerant to give heat suction line temperature was 110 should be fine until we can come back and replace that part. Also found a section of return duck that doesn’t have any tape on it. Which is sucking air in from the attic, not helping the situation when we return. We’ll go ahead and get that sealed up.
Found system locking out due to flame signal being too low - cleaned flame sensor and cycled system to check operation. Everything came back on normally again. No other recommended changes at this time.
System bringing auxiliary heat on not maintaining above 63° Tested system performance without electric heat strips and found system operating within manufacturer's specifications. System runs at 25° temperature rise indicative of normal operation. Adjusted thermostat settings to prevent electric heat from coming on at a low temperature setpoint differential. Recommended trying system like this for a couple days if system cannot maintain temperatures without auxiliary heat call for service.
