Happy Customer

Over the past year and a half, Comfort Central installed a new AC unit and furnace for us and modified the ducting for our remodeling project. Everyone at Comfort Central has been on time, courteous and professional. Kevin has been extremely helpful in working through challenges on our remodeling project. The team went beyond expectations to help install our new cooktop hood. I will use Comfort Central again.

Performed AC maintenance tune up service on heat pump system checking all electrical components, refrigerant balance, unit start up, operation, shutdown, cleaning of indoor and outdoor coils, treatment of drain and condensate pump. Everything looks and runs great! Set up estimate for Tuesday June 25th for 1 o clock to see what can be done to zone system from upstairs to downstairs.

Found heat pump off on low pressure. Pulled low-voltage wires from outdoor unit to reset lockout. Reconnected low-voltage wires ran system. Super heat was 25. Suction pressure was 125. I let it run for a half hour. Started It and restarted the heat pump. Couldn’t reproduce a low pressure situation low enough to cause a low pressure lockout. Check blower and air handler cabinet to make sure everything was still together and no air was bypassing. Couldn’t find any reason why the low pressure lockout was tripped. It’s possible that something’s happening with the blower motor, but it was working fine while I was there servicing the equipment

Replaced hard start kit and went to test system operation. When outdoor unit came on the compressor was struggling to run and as it continued the amps slowly went up and then the compressor would shut off. This system is no longer under warranty and recommend replacement of system.

Found system low on refrigerant - added 1 lb r410a refrigerant to bring within manufacturers specifications - performed leak search on system with halogen leak detector, performed bubble test, performed decay test on system, did not register a leak at this time. Cycled unit checking system operation - everything runs without n manufacturers specifications. Recommend finding the manuals to system on mylinkdrive.

Formed spring maintenance on downstairs and upstairs unit. Both systems are working but are outdated and used the old R22 refrigerant. If any parts on the refrigerant side fail system will need to be replaced. Upstairs compressor. It's pulling 10 amps. Outdoor fan is pulling 1 amp. Indoor fan motor is pulling 3 amps. Had a temperature difference between the return and supply of 18° Downstairs compressor is pulling 4 amps. Outdoor fan motor is pulling 1.3 amps. Indoor blower is pulling 1 amp Had a temperature difference of 17° between the return and supply. Cleaned indoor and outdoor coils, added algae tabs to drain pan. All electrical wiring seems to be in great shape.

No cool caused by hard lock out due to high pressure switch fault. Reset system and found system operates normally. Believe high pressures caused by inadequate airflow at outdoor unit. Performed AC maintenance tune up service checking all electrical components, refrigerant balance, unit start up, operation, shutdown, cleaning of indoor and outdoor coils, and treatment of drain lines and condensate pump. Cleaned dehumidifier filter and cycled to check operation. Checked minisplit operation and cleaned indoor and outdoor coils. Everything looks and runs great!
