Arrived at the home and met with th homeowner. Mentioned about the unit that when it turns on it makes a noise. Proceeded to diagnose the unit and found that th return air filter is a Merv 11. It was also dirty and th unit is pulling air from the sides of the filter. Pulled the filter and the homeowner said that the noise has gone. Homeowner will be purchasing new filters to replace the old one.
Complete tuneup. Check, refrigerant temperatures and pressures. Check delta. T. Flushed drain line. Inspected air handler cabinet. Inspected both coils. Checked all wiring and connections. We recommend the customer. Have a hard start. Kit installed to extend the life span of the compressor, but the compressor is failing.
1. Furnish and install two (2) capacitors. 2. Furnish and install one (1) contactor. 3. Perform start up procedures.
Upon arrival found system still frozen. Discussed options and they are aware of the age of the system so they would like to have Corey come out to give them a free estimate on replacing versus repairing. They would like a call in the morning to get that scheduled. System is off and fan set to on.
Upon arrival performed Evaporator Coil Clean in place. Cleared drain line. Installed a safety float switch tested to make sure the safety switch was operating correctly. Left system in good working order.
I performed a maintenance. I replaced the pitted/ burnt contactor. The evap coil is dirty, need to come back the chemical clean evap coil in place. I also noticed the air handler doesn’t have a safety switch. This will prevent water draining out of air handler if drain line plugs up. I put quotes together..
