Service diagnostic found that the safety switch inside the primary condensate drain line was rapidly tripping when water was flowing through the drain. The rapid start stop signal to the condenser unit had overheated the compressor. Options for repair were presented to the homeowner, he chose to have the safety switch moved to the secondary drain line. Cooled the compressor with water and installed a safety switch in the secondary drain line so that if it trips, the switch turns off the condenser and the condenser stays off. I function tested the system and the system was running at the completion of service.
